I think this game was the perfect blend of GTA4 and GTA5. Also, I never realized till this video just how iconic and memorable the weapons were - I don't think any other GTA had weapons this memorable

The Police Stinger is by far and away one of my favorite cars in any GTA to date. I just wish there were civilian versions of it too. It's technically speaking a modified version of the Albany Presidente, which is based off the Cadillac CTS. The Stinger however is based on the Cadillac CTS V, which is a monster of a car. The extra wide fenders, the vented hood and the exhaust on the Stinger just blow the civilian Presidente out of the water. Not to mention the performance and sound the V10 engine makes, even though the CTS V only came with a V8 IRL. The Stinger itself isn't in GTA Online, but they did make a new version of the Cadillac CTS V which is pretty cool too.

San andreas was ahead of it's time. So ahead that they didn't made a single gta title that entertaining ever again. I don't count online. Not because it's better, but because it basicly killed the franchise from a quality standpoint and put it in a 9 year coma so far, that will leave lasting damage to it, no matter when it ends.

To be honest, GTA 4 and EFLC seems like a demo version of GTA 5 since it doesn't have that much things to do, but GTA 4 brings more realistic ragdolls and features than GTA 5 for example we can go to burger shot in GTA 4 but not 5 as you probably know, GTA 5 is more of action packed as each mission has it's gameplay mechanics, I personally love both games but GTA TBoGT seems like Alpha of GTA 5.

I remember when i bought this game, in Spain, 2013 a week before GTA V release, a 12 years old me bought the Episode from Liberty City in a Gamestop in the last year of that shop in Spain before the close forever. I love these game but gta 4 for me is the better one. I paid $20 for a full fledged story, new missions, new weapons and vehicles, now Rockstar charges the equivalent price of $100 in shark cards for a single in game airplane. Can't really blame rockstar for this, they offered idiotic fans a shit sandwich and they continue to eat them (shark cards) for whatever it costs. They are literally working smarter not harder. I just wish there weren't so many stupid fans, rockstar would have been compelled to make real single player content dlc in GTA 5

Grand Theft Auto IV follows the story of Niko Bellic; Before the events of the game, he fought in the Bosnian War as a teenager, was betrayed by one of the members (which got most of the squad killed) and is now obsessed with getting revenge. After fighting in the war, bad circumstances led him to work for Ray Bulgarin in human trafficking, which ended with Niko being blamed for a sinking ship and leaving Europe to escape Bulgarin's wrath and power. While spending the next seven months in the merchant navy he made the decision to move to Liberty City, where his cousin Roman claimed to be living a life of luxury (as well as to hunt down one of the two suspected traitors, Florian Cravic). The game begins with Niko getting off the container ship "Platypus" and meeting his cousin Roman. He quickly finds out that Roman completely bluffed about his lifestyle, both as a joke and to recruit help, as he is living the average life of a poor immigrant in Hove Beach. Niko spends the next few weeks working at Roman's cab depot (making friends like "Little" Jacob Hughes and Brucie Kibbutz in the process, as well as a girlfriend Michelle) and fighting off his loan sharks - this eventually leads to Niko killing Vlad Glebov, a Russian mobster and one of the sharks, for sleeping with Roman's girlfriend Mallorie Bardas. Subsequent to killing Vlad, Niko reveals to Roman that the real reason he came to America was to find Florian Cravic, a man who he thinks may have betrayed him and his squad during the Yugoslavian Wars; he claims that it was either Florian or another man named Darko Brevic. Immediately after, they are kidnapped by the Russian mob and before they are both nearly killed, Niko wins over the mob's leaders Mikhail Faustin and Dimitri Rascalov to work for them instead. Because Mikhail is a violent, irrational sociopath (even by organized crime standards), he has Niko kill the son of Kenny Petrovic, the most powerful Russian mobster in the United States. After a short while, Dimitri tells Niko that in order to avoid being killed by Petrovic, he must kill Mikhail. They successfully kill him and appease Petrovic, but when Niko is to receive payment, Dimitri reveals that he is now partnered with Ray Bulgarin, a former employee of Niko's who thinks Niko had betrayed him, and tries to have him killed. Niko, with the help of Little Jacob, manages to escape. Now, Niko and Roman, whose Hove Beach apartment and cab depot were both destroyed in a fire started by Dimitri, must leave Broker and hide with Mallorie's cousins, in the northern borough of Bohan. Mallorie introduces Niko to both Manny Escuela, a community organizer making a documentary about his good deeds, and Elizabeta Torres, an extremely influential drug supplier (who, in turn, introduces Niko to Playboy X during a heroin deal and Patrick McReary during a gun exchange). Through Manny, Niko is blackmailed by police chief Francis McReary into silencing people for him, including famous lawyer Tom Goldberg. As the authorities close in on Elizabeta's drug ring, Niko's girlfriend Michelle reveals that she is an undercover agent and Niko will be forced to work for her boss. Elizabeta is arrested and sentenced to 300 years (but not before she kills Manny and his cameraman for trying to citizen arrest her for publicity). Niko moves on to work for Playboy, who is embarrassed to welcome back his old-fashioned mentor Dwayne Forge from prison. As their views conflict and their friendship deteriorates, Playboy and Dwayne each try to have Niko kill the other. Niko's decision of who to kill is one of seven pivotal choices in the game, left to the player. Niko is paid twenty-five grand to kill Dwayne, who could be framed as suicidal, delusional and ready to die. However, if he kills Playboy, who could be considered very greedy and disrespectful to his mentor, he is rewarded with his penthouse and car (worth much more). Niko also does very secretive work for United Liberty Paper, the front company which Michelle's (real name Karen) superiors cover themselves with. Niko is ironically told to kill other criminals who immigrated from Eastern Europe, for their ties to financing terrorist activity. Roman is kidnapped by Dimitri's Russian mob once again, after his gambling habit led him to "gambling in their private club". After Niko rescues him, Roman finally becomes a millionaire and purchases a luxury condo for him and Niko. Soon after he is contacted again by Patrick McReary, and begins working with his family and friends in the Irish mob (also finding out chief McReary is his brother). Niko becomes a family friend, eventually dating Patricks sister Kate McReary. Niko is introduced to Ray Boccino of the Pegorino Family, who employ Packie's crew as extra muscle. Ray leads everyone involved in a messy, complex diamond deal that pits them against the Jewish Mob and the Ancelotti Family, resulting in the death of Jewish Mob leader Isaac Roth and the kidnapping of Don Ancelotti's daughter, Gracie Ancelotti, to demand back the diamonds that were stolen back from them. The diamonds are lost in garbage during a firefight between Niko/Patrick and Ray Bulgarin again, who was the very first owner of the diamonds. Niko is later forced to make a choice of killing one of Patricks brothers, Francis or Derrick. For his assistance, Niko demanded that Boccino lead him to Florian - he successfully tracks Florian down, who changed his name to Bernie Crane. Niko discovers that Florian/Bernie was innocent and a closeted homosexual (leaving Niko to hunt down the real traitor, Darko). Niko continues to help Bernie as a friend, helping to ward off blackmailers of his boyfriend, closeted politician Bryce Dawkins (the demands, control of construction unions, are from Dimitri and Ray Bulgarin of all people). After his help they have a profound friendship, and Bernie rewards Niko with an Infernus supercar. Niko works his way up in the Pegorinos, eventually meeting their boss, Jimmy Pegorino, and working directly for him (eventually, he is told to kill Ray Boccino). United Liberty Paper contacts Niko again to work for Jon Gravelli, the head of the Gambetti Family, the city's most powerful mafia family, and now on his death bed. In exchange for his help, United Liberty Paper kidnaps Darko (who lived in Bucharest, Romania) for Niko to confront personally. Darko admits to betraying the group to pay for his drug habit, and Niko must make the personal choice of either killing him or, as Roman encourages him, forgetting revenge and letting him suffer alive.

I still remember the first time I tried it, it was a really refreshing experience Coming from the brown palette of base GTA V and the absolutely horrible grey palette of lost and damned, the vibrant colors felt like finally taking off the ugly filter The Yu$uf missions were the most fun I had in a GTA game, I was always waiting for the next crazy thing and the next ridiculous gold pleated object, it contrasted so well with all the other missions This game really was a breath of fresh air and fun in a lifetime of GTA trying so hard to be dark and gritty and is really underappreciated

I feel like GTA IV was the "testing ground" for rockstar on how they wanted they wanted the GTA series to move on. GTA IV with it's much more darker and realistic tone into it. The lost and damned with it's much more emotional and angrier tone into it. The ballad of gay Tony with it's much more light hearted and more goofier tone, but still had it's moments storyline. And judging with how V turned out, they picked TBOGT. Which is a good thing IMO.

GTA TBoGT was a game I wouldn't stop playing when I first got the Episodes from Liberty City trilogy. _If there was a game I could play first again, it would be this one hands down._

You're telling me people are still playing tBoGT online? On PC? That's insane. I can't imagine how anyone could get past the wretched Games for Windows Live BS. If anyone knows how please let me know, I would love to hop back into GTA 4 online. Also tLaD had the best pvp gamemodes in GTA 4, Lone Wolf Biker and Chopper vs Chopper were really fun, perhaps on par with Cops and Crooks.

You have like 2 options: Get GFWL to work (check the video ''Downgrading GTA 4 Tutorial! Multiplayer & Achievements! (UPDATED 2022)'') and or download GTA Connected (which is the original Multiplayer but with player hosted servers instead of GFWL, laggier than GFWL but you don't have to worry about kick bugs and all that stuff). On GFWL, people more or less only play on organized events, on GTA Connected it's mostly random people playing free mode on IV or organized races on all 3 games and the occasional other gamemodes. Finally someone that recognizes TLAD Multiplayer (also Cops N Crooks is overrated, or at least, doesn't play well on PC in comparison to consoles).

Tbogt free roam was my favorite gaming ive ever played. I used to make mods with car spawns and scripts which just made it that much better. The best part was flying buzzards and pilot lobbies!!

Eh it was a nice reprieve from the grim dark story of gta 4 and the boring missions, but I don’t think they learned much from it for V. V was like they forced the humor, nothing was organic and they got just mean spirited with the satire of the US, sprinkled in with a few over the top missions that also felt forced. The heists were also underutilized.

The only thing I didn't like in GTA IV was the blurry effect the game had for some reason, and I was glad that they greatly reduced that in TBoGT

I think that TBoGT Online was and still is the best online multiplayer throughout the Grand Theft Auto series. I remember dying a million times to buzzards and still wanting to play it again the next day. I miss when everyone was at the airport just trying to fucking go ham on eachother and steal a helicopter. I can say without a doubt that whenever I play GTA V Online, I get bored. 5 minutes in, I've already had 500 fucking people call me and have to hear them say their first line before they fuck off, I wanna have fun not hear them advertise missions in hopes someone will buy shark cards. TBoGT is the best story mode of GTA IV and by far the best multiplayer of the Grand Theft Auto series as a whole.

Dude. This was awesome! 👍🏻 If you cover The Lost and Damned, please talk about the more open mission design. A lot of missions let you plan ahead and complete them how you like. Makes it one of the more replayable GTAs IMO.

There was a glitch for the parachute in early release where holding left trigger to Bank left and feathering right trigger fast would cause you to gain altitude - allowing you to fly around for hours. Combine it with infinite parachute function in a multilayer server and you could glide around like batman for hours. I had so much fun and then they patched it out ):

Man TBOGT was so much fun! Loved the soundtrack, over the top missions, it helped make the world of GTA 4 colorful and brought back the San Andreas vibe, loved it 👏👏👏 really wish Rockstar Games would remaster GTA 4 and the episodes someday for current gen

You missed one point that rockstar improved vehicle handling in dlcs bikes have more grip on road i played all 3 games back to back i felt the difference in tbogt and tlad characters doesn’t easily fell off bike and cars have more grip on road i hate the fact tbogt utilise liberty city better than gta4

Me love gta 4 and the dlc so much that i do a marathon each year of the hd verse(4,Dlcs, and 5) And i take my time to play the story, exploring the map and still discover things more than 10 years after, the map is really huge, when you take the time to explore it.
