Those aren't key units so it's fine, I mean metal is very good and useful but not necessary. Also there's a lot of ubers better than legends, you technically don't need one but yeah unlucky. Though 8.4k user rank isn't too high, keep going hopefully stuff changes

For me the only problem i have with battle cats is the energy system needs internet to refill which might not be a problem to a majority of people but for me internet is kinda limited. But i do understand the measures they took to fix the energy refill glitch using device time.

Dude energy in beggining-early game is so limited. If it weren't for the abundant treasure festivals and half-energy cost periods that happened in early summerfest this year (which is actually when I started the game), I think it would've taken me a few more days to complete EoC and perfect all the treasures. Fortunately you get leaderships for every map beaten including SoL maps so I'm sailing quite smoothly now.

As a player whos been playing for a LONG time, (pre gamamoto era plus fungi cat and PPAP collabs). I agree with all your points, less so with the cursed seed part but its still a fair point. I have always wanted to recommend this game to my friends but the beginner process is so tedious and long I just cant bring myself to do it. I also see it with PONOS marketing and how they are starting to advertise to the west and all I see are beginner stages and cats and nothing that shows the fun mid and end game like crazed stages and such. If I were PONOS I would overhaul the beginning to make the grind not nearly as bad. But it will always be my favorite mobile game and I do see the course PONOS is taking with a few recent QOL updates so I have hope!

I had a cursed seed when I started 2 years ago. I bought 4500 catfood only to get 3 duplicate units. After that, I just had to go seed tracking.. Fast forward, I am 27kUR and just keeps on boring grinding cat tickets and rare tickets. The QoL for these things definitely need to get improved specially the autos. I'm losing my patience specially with the new units collabs that has not been happening for months.

I don’t think using gold CPU’s should be free. That would completely trivialize catfruit stages, and possibly make Ponos ruin them and make them limited like bstone stages. I don’t think condensing all of the story chapters into 50 stages is a good idea. That would make the game way too short. You could just go with what Battle Cats Unite did and make each story mode have one chapter instead of 3. Keep in mind that a single bun bun is very difficult for most players in eoc, already reaching cotc like 30 stages after that is way too fast

I don’t think that speedups are a large problem, most levels do not need speedups to be fun. I can get through my 900 energy cap in 30 minutes, would I rather only have it for 15? The only situation I use speedups is when I am cyberstacking or grinding event tickets, but these situations are few and far between. I have over 400 stockpiled from early-game Gamatoto, lucky tickets, and other event tickets. I see no reason to run out, because I see little reason to use them. They make my timings half as accurate and reduce my time to play.

Even though I'm a person who has a blessed seed (My first multi in a banner I got Mococo and also 2 Ubers) I can admit how stressful it must be for people who have a bad seed, because not getting certain units just because the game doesn't want to give them to you, it's pretty annoying, besides a gacha game not really being gacha? Of course, this would break all the people who use seed tracking (myself included, but I only started because I wanted to use my legends tickets well). And about the account problem, this is a problem that I see with "old" gacha games (10 to 9 years old like FGO). They all tend to have a horrible account system that many people end up losing their accounts by accident. The cell phone ends up breaking, being stolen and so on.

When I first started a few years ago I never knew what SoL was and never played it because it was hidden at the bottom of the legend stages. I think it would be more accessible for new players to make it into a different story chapter like EoC, ItF, and CotC, just without treasures. They could also expand on the UI allowing you to choose how many stars of difficulty you want to play on and maybe a stage filter for specific enemies to beat to clear the monthly kill quest challenges. Half energy cost events and a treasure chance-up event for SoL in this form would make new players want to grind the small rewards with a 1% drop more I think. I made a new account around a month ago and early SoL just seems like EoC but with a few new enemies that match the same difficulty in new ways (Master A, Celeboodle, Dagshund, THE SLOTH, etc). New players that just beat EoC Chapter 1 would have a breeze through parts of early SoL until they have their first few challenges.

My suggestion to improve a bigginer phase is to try make different stages for each chapter not just a near copy and paste as most main story chapters are Also speed ups being a free quality of life, 100% agreed i always question why so many games have speed up just like that but in battle cats you need to geind for them, because how speed ups are always limited I'm often discouraged from using them which makes some parts of the game even more boring than how they already are, like for example farming stages or uninteresting legend stages With CPU tho i don't mind how it works right now mainly because CPU always was a very underused item so lot's of people had them stockpiled

It does feel really repetitive so far and find it annoying especially these chapters being copy and paste while also feeling like i can't use the gacha either while barely getting any xp. I'm starting to burn out fast and it's kinda sad... Update after 5 months: am out of that chapter and got some amazing units from the gacha but am still missing units from the gacha that can give an advantage to certain stage types and or needed to complete stage types. I started a mini account since I've reached the end game on my main save. You'd think grinding XP, fruits, and stages would be awful, but no the worst part was getting treasures. I forgot how tedious and awful it felt having to set a schedule to play during a treasure festival because for whatever reason whenever you have a good amount of leaderships saved up and have the mental capacity to play for an hour or so it never wants to appear. Both 24-hour festivals as well as 1-hour ones become elusive bigfoots. That's one of the main things I've never understood, just buff the drop rates for treasures and remove the festivals altogether. Why force players to go through the repetitive slop that is the story level’s (mainly EOC)? It got so bad to the point where I couldn't for the life of me get the treasures for ITC Ch3 so I just bought 60 treasure radars to finally move on and do SOL. It's crazy that they haven't changed this system. The fact they are required to get so you can move on to the best part of the game is annoying.

I had one account years ago I got pretty far I had unlocked musashi had all the cyclone stages done. I think I was user rank $6,000 or something along those lines and I lost my account and it was just too painful. I stopped playing completely because of that and just recently came back and even as a returning player who had experience and knew what to do and how to make the grinds easier, I can definitely say the beginning portion is by far the worst. as an experienced battle cats player i have lost 3 battle cats accounts in the past (my last one of which i had 6500 user rank) so i had to resort to the battle cats unite. the battle cats unite dosen't repeat itself in the beginner phase so there is only 45 stages for each chapter. also it has really fun OP minigames

another issue that i think is important is Regular Cat tickets A lot of progression is locked for your main cats, they're the main thing in the game and considering silver gacha tickets, not only are shared between normal cats and upgrades but If you want a true form for ar egular cat it could take hundreds of regular cat tickets , and PONOS drops them extremely rarely once a day, or getting 2-3 whenever the facing danger stage appears or even more rarely Cybear is horrible I'm already in CoTC ch2 and my eraser is still at 20+5 after like 200 tickets cuz it just doesnt seem to drop

Siege of hippo really should be at least 1 ticket guaranteed. Or slightly cheaper in energy cost. It's such an easy stage even without Critters. Wasting the 250 energy feels bad when you don't get anything. The silver cat tickets are so annoying to grind and having your main units so underwhelming throughout the early game. By the time you grind enough tickets you probably have one or two good Ubers, a few good rares and some specials. If it wasn't for restricted stages I wouldn't use most normals.

I played the game since the game initially had names based on Japanese prefectures I reset once cuz of a lost account and honestly the one thing I NEVER want to repeat is Story chapters. It's tedious to grind for treasures even with Treasure Festival. It should also have a pity if you grind say, 10x and don't get Superior treasures. That being said, a lot of QoL features I didn't encounter since I came back from around v8.0 is like the double row, 2x Cat CPU clear, talents, etc. Powercreeping is surprisingly tame after all these years. So even if Battle Cats has these issues, the core game is still pretty good considering its been around for 10 years and counting.

If u wanna ever bring up a good example of bad power creep, just look at Crash Fever and the Global version which is now EoS. Global version has to buff units that release compared to their JP counterparts just to be usable (imagine a cat had critical chance on JP, but global had to buff it to savage blow to be usable at a base line), and the eventual addition of new Omega Quests ("super end game content" is a joke) required u to pull for the 2 new c65 banner units, as well as have a specific free to play unit from 3 years prior to be able to clear it.

Ive played this game at least 5 times from the beginning (Not including 3ds and Switch versions), and the beginners stage is without a doubt absolutely, mindboggling tedious. The Switch version kinda fixes it by making energy refills and continues only cost 3 catfood instead of 30, making treasure radars half the cost, only having 3 chapters and making the Cat Ticket stages drop rare tickets instead of normal Cat Tickets and I think it would be a really nice change for the mobile game. The problem with early game specifically is that its the only time that you don't get to rest from treasure grinding. When you are done with EoC chapter 3 you will switch between into the future and stories of legends. Making event stages tailored for early game players that would introduce them to new enemies but weakened enough for them to be able to clear them. And rewards for clearing those stages could be xp, pickups or trasures on already completed lvls in EoC and maybe even into the future

I’ve actually come to like the new ad options as they don’t interfere with gameplay at all and act as a way for the player to grind for more by doing less. As well as having it as an option to continue a stage every so often to save gotcha pull especially when you have to grind sol due to finishing the main chapters faster than you thought you would. As I’m at the point where I can’t do anything till I get to and beat the fist chapter of UL to true form the legend special units, and to get relic fruits. Also does anyone know when brainwash units come back into rotation been saving my cat food and my discounted gotcha rolls.

One issue I have about taking away the treasure grinding and shortening all 3 of the campaigns is the steeper XP cost. If you're rolling the gatcha and getting those specialty units(anti-zombie, anti angle, etc.) you're going to need and lot more XP to level those units.

honestly, I think the best solution for the beginning part would just be to make the treasure rate drop way way higher, like 3x higher. Or maybe a pity system that gives a guaranteed inferior after 3 clears, normal after 7, and superior after 15. Those seem like reasonable amounts, as I remember in the old days sometimes clearing stages in EoC 25 times and not getting full treasures.. Treasure grinding I think is an essential part of the game, and teaches you fundamentals along the way. You can even learn timing units and whatnot to speedrun stages when youre grinding. Condensing the 450ish levels of the main story chapters into one chapter would seem way too fast paced. The reason beating bun bun, bahamut, or the 3rd god stage feels so good is because of the journey beforehand. If all 9 bosses got mushed into 50 stages, thatd be a main story boss every 5 or so levels. That means something like the face shows up at the same rate as youd meet the first hippoe in Japan. Sure, it might get monotonous to beat these stages over and over, but if treasure drop rate is as high (or if pity system is implemented) youd still be making rapid progress in terms of cat research, base health, cannon stats, cat stats, and worker cat stats. And the feeling when you get that treasure activated feels so good, like a huge level-up. Ive also been playing since about September or October of 2014, just a few weeks after EN release, and have distinct memories of activating treasures and being blown away at how fast my money goes up, or my wallet size increased, or whatever treasure I got. I really enjoy the dynamic of early game, and I think the grind, as painful as it gets at times, is nearly essential to learn the game fully. The anticipation building up over 47 levels of beating the main story bosses 9 different times at the moon/big bangs is just too good to condense into a single chapter.

Newer player here. Just beat Chapter 3 Moon and trasure grinding really does feel bad. When I get lucky and get a superior in a few runs I don't really mind. But when I have to clear a single stage... SEVENTEEN TIMES.... Yeah it feels pretty bad.

My biggest problem with the game right now is that my next major step in progression is multiple weeks of simply grinding cat fruit and waiting for tickets. Empire of cats has been 100%'d but Into the future 1 is 100% but I've hit 2 and started to stall out with what I've got. I assume this is about the time I start trying to unlock the eraser clone but... I just picked up battlecats on switch instead.

my solution for the treasure problem would probably be exp rewards for each treasure set completed and catfood rewards for each treasure set maxed to superior. this would give new players a more visible incentive to grind these treasures. I will admit I'm not sure if this would solve the problem completely, but when I play a new chapter I always grind treasures as I go and its not as difficult of a grind. I completely agree with the treasure festival becoming a guaranteed chance for a new treasure and believe that in pair with this would not only make treasure grinding less of a grind but also something new players would want to do. personally I think the idea of missions rewarding treasures isn't exactly a good one, but that's my opinion. it just seems a little too difficult for the rewards you get, I got this idea from that by basically reversing it and this one wouldn't even be difficult to implement.

14:39 I think combining it all into one extremely long chapter would be bad. I'd rather they do what they already did in TBC Unite. There they condensed the 9 main chapters into just 3 (called Empire of Cats, Into the Future, and Cats of the Cosmos). And about the treasur missions I remember thinking it would be fun if they added thre missions that would guarantee a gold treasure if you completed all three for the stage when I did self-imposed challenges while grinding treasures.

My main issue is how long it takes to get strong enough to clear ITF. I’ve been stuck between SOL and limited stages trying to get good units, I could clear ITF 1 but that’s not very useful for me

Only been playing about 6 months, but my progress has really stalled around the area of future moon 2, and getting the tornados and crazed cats because Im missing a few of the key cats like camera cat, seafarer cat and hacker cat and also, my silver tickets have been skewed as well, which has meant that even though I got the 3rd form of almost all of the cats quite a while back, I only got jamiera cat like last week, and I still dont have dragon cats 3rd form because I'm missing 2 copies, meanwhile my other cats are around 15+ and upgrades are maxed out... I dont play daily, but I try to play often, but last few weeks have felt really discouraging, when I'm just waiting around to see if I can pull one of the units I need for the next areas Im stuck in. I got a lot of Ubers, which sounds nice, but its hard to tell what their good for as guides obviously avoid them so it can be hard to know when they would fit the level, and they take so much to level up, I only got like 2 usable ones, and the rest sit between level 1-10 unused.

ive reset the game a few times cause of lost save data and found the best way to deal with empire of cats is to delete and redownload the game after japan and the free starter stuff till you get smt like kaza jizo you can rush the first three chapters

I think there’s some good takeaways from bc unite on switch, specifically how the main chapters are presented. One chapter for each of the three, even though it feels slightly rushed. Pvp mode from bc unite would be a good addition as well, would be great for the 10th anniversary update Lastly, I don’t mind the QoL currently, my only gripe is with the usefulness of Cat CPU. It would be nice in the pause menu mid battle you could select cats that the cpu can’t send out, say cat combos for instance. Legitimately my only issue. Good vid otherwise boogle 👍 I agree with most of your opinions as well.

I really think for the seed problem, every non uber (who consistenly shows up in the roll pool) should be obtainable in like 200 rolls, and also the garenteed uber should just, not use the seed, or its own seed, or anything that isnt replacing what could be the only anti-alien cat for many MANY rolls. Heck I think the playthrough I did which I based my review on was cursed and lacked anti-alien gacha units. Which is kind of a problem with how powerful aliens are. The seed consept isnt bad, its the exacusion that is questionable to say the least.

I think making the argument "battle cats should do this because game xyz is doing it as well" is a poor approach for a video like this. It´s literally the aim of the game to give you something to grind for. But the account recovery system was horrible until the last update and the treasures are still way too annoying for new players though, I can agree with that. Plus the gacha system needs a rework too (if possible). I´ve personally not had too many problems with it, but the seed system is just stupid

I kind of like the chapters being fairly long, but for gods sake GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT ISN’T A COPY AND PASTE OF THE LAST CHAPTER. I would like it if for EOC, ITF, and COTC you battle separate locations from the last chapter, and the few stages that were fought in the last chapter that you still fight should have different stage designs with different enemies. The essential checkpoints like floating continent, great abyss, some of the special only restrictions for COTC, etc. Also, DEFINITELY agree on the “guarantee a tier of treasure” rule during treasure fest. No one likes clearing a stage a bunch of times for nothing.

I had started in 2012. The first time I forgot my account because my phone was having issues. In 2018 I rejoined and this time my phone died, unable to restart it and wasn't able to get my account back. 3rd times the charm on my current one. Edit, my current account is about 3 months old. When I started they had an option to pay 1 dollar to skip Empire of Cats, get all treasures on EoC, and Max Cat army. I took that since I didn't want to do that again.

Honesty the only reason why I started tracking my seed is simply because I have been playing this game for ages, I have a lot of cats (and I mean a lot) but I somehow never seemed to get a legend rare. When I started researching how seeds work I realised how flawed the gacha system truly was. I try to stay away from looking at anything except for how far away my next legend rare is. Mainly because I am a collector and legends are still so hard to get (I only have 4 legends even though I genuinely have the best seed I’ve ever seen. Not even joking when I say that I had 2 legend rares IN A ROW!) Thus I can start collecting legends while also having the excitement of “random” Ubers.

I think both treasure festival and Z-medals should guarantee treasures. If PONOS is too afraid to merge all the chapters into one like you suggested, at the very least they could change EOC chapter 2 & 3’s level design by using different enemies (like some slighty nerfed SOL enemies) to at least add some element of surprise for new players to encounter as they go along.

@pein4332 no filibuster is unlocked by beating cotc chapter 3 and and appears on that map. And aku realm is basically main chapter that introduces aku after doing it's requirements. Boogle can explain it better
