That's funny that you actually believe that. Yes there is hype for it among hardcore comic book/superhero fans, but among casual movie goers (who objectively make up the vast majority of the money that these movies make at the box office) gave up on thew DC brand in general years ago (with the exception of Joker and The Batman). The old WB reign destroyed the reputation of DC and its characters in the eyes of the casual movie goer and it is going to take a long time and a good stretch of good solid films and shows for that reputation to return to what it should be. You and I and the people who watch this show are excited for Superman yes, I agree with that. But John is right when he says that the film will very likely will not be profitable UNLESS the early reactions and reviews are through the roof positive. I believe that probably will be the caser though since James Gunn is behind the helm and he has never steered us wrong when behind the wheel of a comic book film.

@ Oppenheimer doesn’t make $ 1 billion, it made $ 974 million, it’s close to it , barely , but I give you that. Oppenheimer is different, it has a historical value to it and it was done by Chris Nolan . I never heard movies based on pop iconic stars made that kind of money, from Bob Marley , Freddie Mercury ( name of the few ) , they might be a good movie and ended up making a good money but not in that kinda money

For me I'd put Superman and Mission Impossible 8 as equally hyped. Superman is most likely the most important movie of next year as its restarting DC meaning a big rival for marvel, and could recharge the superhero genre. MI 8 is up there for me as well because the MI films are great and could well be the last time we see the team together. After that I'd put Fantastic Four as third. I'm not sure how I'd rank the rest of the movies, I'll just wait and see.

Just started the video but How to train your dragon as a pick is wild. It looks exactly like the original. It’s gonna be The Lion King all over again. Imo they really should have just done a live action sequel. In fact all of these live action remakes should be… but that would mean some creativity

I was also disappointed by the Mortal Kombat movie, but I'm hoping the film makers heard the criticism and will make the sequel better. There's still some casting problems that we're just stuck with, but i can get past that as long as the story is better and they give Cole the MK Annihilation Johnny Cage treatment

@ no you misunderstand, most of the theaters that were playing Way of Water near me only had IMAX 3D or Dolby Vision 3D as options, no 2D or standard showings as far as I could see and I can’t understand why they would do this when most audiences consider 3D a dead gimmick nowadays versus when the first Avatar came out
