My friends husband cheated and they were both witnesses, but since there were no witnesses to witness the cheating in the act the congregation shunned my friend, but not the husband for cheating. A bunch of hypocritical idiots. Her friend would not make a cake on her birthday but would eat the cake the next day. Don't be in a religious cult if you can't follow cult rules because it will just make you look like a hypocrit. Just get with Jesus and get Grace and Mercy. He's cheated and that's adultery so a divorce is permissible but not required. If she wants to keep getting cheated on and wishes to give her son the impression that that is ok then it will be her son's choice later in life whether he would like to follow suit. You can be divorced and coparent and don't have to subject yourself to cheating behavior and the risks of stds apart from the emotional damages of being used and played. Or join a different cult which accommodates plural marriage and ask the other woman if she would wish to become a sister wife. Basically, just do whatever makes you happy. He wants his cake and wants to eat it too...make sure it's a nice chocolate pie alá "the help" 😆

Divorce is tough on kids. But it’s better to leave an untrusting partner and marriage. Kids know what’s going on whether you think they do or not. It’s not fair for them to see the disrespect and dishonor of what their father has done to his mother. You don’t have the same values or beliefs as your husband. And your husband is a coward. Cowards cheat.

You’re making some real harsh judgments there. Ppl cheat for all kinds of reasons, a lot of it stems from self esteem and emotional issues. So ppl just have a higher sex drive and low willpower, etc. Ofc that doesn’t make cheating ok, but either are any of your sins. The only way ANY relationship will ever work out in life is if ppl stop being so judgmental and learn to forgive bc we are all imperfect. Loving others and forgiving freely is the second most important thing to do.

@@Noadvantage246 I'm guessing you're a cheater! Let me tell you what cheating does to your partner it destroys their sense of self, their self esteem, their trust in others and in the world, they are derailed off course and into depression and cannot function worse if they have kids the kids suffer especially if the person that was cheated on is the primary care giver the household suffers as a whole. Every memory every word told was a lie because how can I believe you when you did this and once they say or do something that was similar to what they did when they were cheating then comes the spiraling triggers that oh they're cheating again! It's sick and disgusting cause now I'm stuck wondering whats so wrong with me that I wasn't good enough for you and that even when it was good you cheated no man! Cheaters are cowards! If you have trauma and commitment issues don't be in a relationship don't destroy someone else to please your despicable need to cheat so don't tell people cheated on to just forgive cause you are what is wrong with the world! You destroy someone's who doesn't deserve that for your own selfish needs and expect them to just get over it cause it was that easy for you to cheat on someone you love so you think it's that easy for that person to get over it! @@aprilchow-chee5281 Firstly I’m really sorry you’ve experienced that. It’s terrible and they are wrong for putting you through it. Thank you for sharing and giving a bit more insight on how a lot of people view cheating, it puts much of this comment section in better perspective. As for me, no I don’t cheat and I’ve not even really been in relationship. I don’t believe in sex before marriage or dating causally in large part bc of all the pain you just described, imo ppl should only date if they’re seriously thinking about committing to a life partner. I can understand your views but I will say the #1 problem with it is the problem with most of the world. We’ve all been taught to put ourselves at the center of everything and view things from that lens. It’s something I had to unlearn and still struggle with. Bible teaches you to put God and others first. Problem with putting yourself first is all the feelings you just described, you start feeling like everything someone says and does is about you and a reflection your value. In reality what others choose to do has very little or nothing to do with you. When you’re able to remove yourself personally from it you don’t feel personally attacked by them and can better see that they’re just another human that’s flawed and likely hurt themselves. There’s so many cycles of pain and suffering bc ppl don’t do this. Forgiveness is really a gift to yourself, I’ve experienced racism and didn’t have the best childhood or perfect parents I used to really affect my self esteem but once I found God and realized it’s really not all about me it helped massively. It lets you step out of your head and view things differently. God bless 🙏🏿

I don’t like when women do this. When families do this. Because someone got pregnant out of wedlock doesn’t mean you should force them to get married. He did not come from Much of a religious background to me. A man who comes from such a background will wait until marriage. Your husband cheating on you with the neighbor says it all. He does not want you, value you, respects you and wants to humiliate you and push you away. Cheating is wrong but what makes it even worse is your neighbor. Why would you stay for your son when the father made choices to move the son away because of his cheating. You don’t want to model bad parenting for your son. If you want to stay because you enjoy the cheating and all the emotional abuse that comes with it , stay don’t make your reason your son. Does your husband even want this marriage? Is he repentant? Has he gone to therapy? Does he have an accountability partner? Do you work and make your own money? My dear your son is not the issue here, it is your insecurities and fears. Different things work for different people. I am never staying with a husband who cheats on me. I love me. Cheating is not a mistake. The neighbor did not rape him or put a gun to his head.

Same, I’ve always been very aware of birth control, despite being raised as a pretty traditional Catholic (still go to church, I think it has a place in people’s lives and I like to sing) but I guess I was super lucky? I know not all sex education across the nation is equal and I have been so blessed with great teachers growing up, and encouraged to ask questions. I hope people aren’t that much in the dark, or are too afraid to ask because they don’t want to look stupid (which is more common that anyone will admit)

Sounds like you want to stay in this marriage, just want frequent sex like it used to be. Consider both of you get physical exams, especially endocrine/hormone evaluation. There might be an underlying medical situation you are not aware of. If test results come back clear, then have a discussion with your spouse what are the issues in your relationship. Sometimes it's small things like expressing appreciation, respect, affection, etc. Sometimes it's helping around the house, so things get done sooner and both parties have enough energy left to be sexual.

It's wrong. Regardless of the reason. I mean, we can hear their side of the story to try to learn from it and instill better values within ourselves and others, but it doesn't change that it's wrong. Kinda like a murderer. There are a plethora of reasons why people murder others, but at the end of the day, murder is wrong. We can learn the reasons behind why the person committed murder so we can dissect it and try to prevent others from doing the same by providing more resources and tooling in the mental health and education space, but a murderer must still be punished. 🤷🏾‍♀️

One thing that stands out to me is she said that the only reason she hasnt left is that she doesn't want 50/50 custody and 50/50 custody "isnt enough". It makes me think that she might think of using her child as a way to hurt him. I hope she doesn't do that. The dad maybe a terrible husband but children need their father. My opinion is not popular, but not being able to see your child everyday is a knife to a mother’s gut. i think the decision depends on if the couple wants to work it out. i sympathize with wanting to stay in a bad marriage so that you can be the one to raise your own child without dealing with a future step parent. because your kid is gonna be hurt whether there’s a divorce or not, so I’d rather be the one to raise my kid. I don’t really feel that the kid would grow up hating his mom for that. I think the kid would grow up knowing how much she loved the kid. BUT this particular couple isn’t on the same page with beliefs, so this does seem dang near impossible. I’d move the family and give it one more shot with professional help for the couple and for the kid.

Was just going to post this. There were problems all along, it just happened to be him that cheated. It was for a reason. Not blaming her, there was a problem in the relationship. Kids need stability. They shouldn't have to suffer because the parents have problems. It's not ideal, but neither is having both parents struggling, step-dads, step-moms, step-brothers/sisters, etc. It's responsible parents that put their feelings and emotions aside and not flip their kids world upside down so you can feel "happy". Abusive is one thing, looking for greener pastures is another. Broken homes are devastating for everyone involved. Both my wife and I have been miserable at times, but I still tuck them in at night and we are still together everyday. I'll sacrifice my happiness for their stability every time.

With couples therapy, the vast majority of marriages survive infidelity. Excuse me for being blunt but, you spread your legs for him and risked pregnancy. Seek couple's therapy to give your son the best chance of avoiding having to grow up in chaos. Seek divorce when all other avenues of saving your marriage have been exhausted. Peace snd love.
