This one has to be one of my favorites, right after the Gorilla Robot experience. It's amazing to see the intelligence of these animals in their natural habitat. Human beings are extremely advanced and have more brain development but that doesn't mean animals are less intelligent. They just live a life differently from us, and I think you'd have to be pretty smart to be able to survive in the wild, making use of what you have without relying on technology. I love this so much, it's a beautiful experience to capture.

Its called the uncanny valley effect, basically something too close in appearance to the real thing yet something weird and unnatural is going on. It's a defensive mechanism of our brain to identify potential dangers like a diseased person for example. As long as we don't perfectly mimic humans or use something far enough it doesn't trigger our empathic responses we'll feel that when seeing robots.

@marcelluswallace40764 жыл бұрын
@@meyr1992 "just a theory" General language and scientific definition of "theory" are two different things. "Theory" as in "evolutionary theory" is not a speculative guess. It's backed by evidence, like fossils, DNA analysis, homologies and even direct observation on species with short live circles. We can even interfere there and show that they adapt to preselected factors. The simplest explanation for all of this is that there is an interaction between the species and the environment which selects predominantly the best flitted. Over the course of generations some characteristics where more favorable than others and are now more common. That requires that heritability, variation and mutation exists, which we can proof in all three cases. We are still working on it and discover new things everyday. Progressing knowledge is what we seek by the scientific methodology to which it is crucial to proof things wrong. Everyday scientists all over the world work on proving each other wrong and try to improve our understanding of how it works. It truly is an lively and interesting field.

Welcome aboard! Always great to hear from new viewers. At the moment, depending where you live, you can see how some of the robots were made on the 'Making of' episode which you can see on the DVD/Blu-ray of our series: amzn.to/3NtfiKG Also available on Amazon Prime!

It sounds like something that would be found in a temperate forest. Like the ones in washington state, or in europe. You could try looking up birdsong from those areas?

Everytime I go to our hometown, I always wake up to that and more.. There are other tunes that you can herr depending on what type of bird.. 🕊🕊🕊 how I miss home 😥

I love how they are acting and looking , just like humans . Only with much more hair and a little bit „dumb“ (they are very clever , i know)

imagine for the orangs point of view, nobody can tell them it was a robot so they probably really just think there are these weird looking alien things in the forest that just sit in one spot making weird movements

Imagine trying to make a new friend and the only possible solution you can think of it to slap them with leaves.
