The only thing I got out of this video is him crying not being accepted to the main stream and hating on them in a subtle way. Instead of trying to unite the two sides of skateboarding he’s kind of keeping them separated by calling out the mainstream. He thinks so highly of himself and his friends who didn’t make it in the “big time” I would have had some respect for him if he did batb. Instead he decided to poke the cool and edgy brands.

"Pro" just requires being friends with the Gatekeepers.
@axel.lessio3 жыл бұрын
Nope, it only requires you to make income with your skating, that's what a professional is. You can make money by winning tons of contests, releasing parts under a big brand name, but also by uploading KZbin and Instagram videos on your own or as part of a team like Revive... it literally does NOT matter. You can be the most skilled skateboarder of all time, if that doesn't make you earn your income then you're not a pro.

Marketing is the most overlooked aspect of skateboarding. People forget that Bam Margera sold more boards than Tony Hawk did in the early 00's. Was Bam the best skateboarder in the world? By a longshot, no. He was very good, but he didn't skate competitions, he didn't go on skate tours, he was basically a social influencer before that was a thing. And for a while, he sold more boards than anyone on the planet and made Element a lot of money in the process. Is Aaron Kyro the best skateboarder in the world? By a longshot, no. But guess how many more kids watch his videos than give two shits about Nyjah Huston nollie laser flipping a 30 stair or placing first in Street League. He sells skating, which is the whole point of being pro. Is Andy Anderson the best skater in the world? Judging by his competition scores, the judges certainly don't think so. Guess whose pro model is selling like water in the desert.
@impossible_error3 жыл бұрын
Marketing is Skateboarding. That's how bad ideas Sell. You could put a homeless guy on a skateboard and sell it. I am better than Aaron Kyro, but I do zero marketing. (Bam did tours with Toy Machine and Element I am sure. I remember watching the videos. Bam was Gnarly.) (Nyjah doesn't do Nollie Laser Flips and has never even ollied a 20 stair. Nyjah has been marketing since he was doing heelflip feebles down handrails at 12 years old.) (Andy Anderson is one of the Best Skaters in the World.)
