We attended the 2022 Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival in Wilton Manors/Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday June 18th. This was the 1st parade since 2019 and an estimated forty to forty five thousand people were along Wilton Drive this year. The overall rallying cry for this year was "We Say Gay" and as a happily married gay couple we proudly SAY GAY!

You think it's hot there - try doing a Pride festival here in the desert, where June is the hottest month of the year! It's a little too hazardous to party outside all day when it's 113 in the shade! So historically, Phoenix did their Pride in April, Tucson is in September/October, and when I lived in Palm Springs (CA), they did theirs in November.

We actually have two Pride Events in Fort Lauderdale. The Stonewall Street Festival & Parade is in June (in the Gay Village of Wilton Manors) and Pride Fort Lauderdale (held along the beach) is in February when it is cooler. Both events are very well organized and attended. This February we have Pride of the Americas which is inclusive of North, Central and South America and expected to be the Largest Pride Event ever!

Yes, that is why the written title of the video says Wilton Manors and our description as well. There are two big Pride events in the greater Fort Lauderdale area which include the Stonewall Pride Parade in Wilton Manors and the Fort Lauderdale Pride Festival held at Fort Lauderdale Beach.

I was there this weekend for the 10th year in a row. We even went the year it was cancelled since we had reservations. I was there last year for the unfortunate accident. This year I was interviewed for the local CBS station. We were on the other side of the intersection from where you were. We also left when the skys looked bad. Unfortunately, this may be the last year for us.

Thanks for sharing! I have never physically seen a pride parade. I actually appreciated that the floats, marchers etc. were not mostly nude or over feminine. This is not what gay means there were skinny, overweight, short or tall which is basically NORMAL PEOPLE. Sometimes some parades project nudity or overly feminine people which is projecting the wrong image. Thanks again guys!!! Have a good week! ❤️❤️
