The problem is we start polls too early and voters have a preseason bias. I'm an LSU fan/grad and I am pretty sure my team is NOT a top 10 team. But our high preseason ranking has buoyed us up this week. We need to all let the season play out and see how the 12-team bracket is structured.

I’ve been saying this for years polls are irrelevant until conference play starts and the preconceived opinions of teams based off preseason ranking skews how people views certain conferences and teams in general.

John, the guarantee for the Big 12 to get 2 teams into the CFP is Iowa State and BYU both meet up in the Big 12 championship game undefeated.

The problem is who’s in charge of the rankings. SEC and BIG10 got them in the pocket that’s why no matter who loses to who they will ALWAYS find a way to keep those teams in hunt for the playoff. It’s disgusting that they do it and nobody or anyone is doing anything about it.

@@heartbreak25 is there anyone that would take into the playoffs a 1 loss Nebraska or Indiana, over a 1 loss Ohio State or 1 loss Michigan or 1 loss Oregon or a 1 loss Penn State etc etc? To double down on what I said who has Indiana even played to be ranked? The logic is to get their teams ranking up so when they do lose to another BIG10 team their ranking doesn’t drop as low as just like Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State, Ole Miss, LSU? For example how in the world is Michigan and Ole Miss in the top 25 with 2 losses? The list goes on and on

If the Big 12 wants to be relevant they will need to invest in NIL, staff and facilities at SECish levels over the next few years to compete for some of the 4 and 5 ⭐️ recruits landing in the SEC/Big10. Our teams have to show well in the playoffs. If the Big 12 champ gets their doors blown off every year, we won’t have a leg to stand on.

College Football is an enterprise. The legal problem for the B1G and the SEC is that if they ACT in their own best interest as if THEY OWN the "open market enterprise" they run a foul of anti-trust law and their leadership could be guilty of criminal collision. It would be like saying Chevron and Shell own OIL production and have the right to push Sinclair and Union Oil out of the industry to monopolize it all. That cannot fly. They are at the X-Roads of breaching the commerce clause of the U. S. Constitution, especially given that most B1G and SEC schools are owned by state governments. Thus Alabama and Michigan effectively colluding to suppress Kansas and California is an absolute violation of the commerce clause.

The B1G, SEC deal is for 10 games between them and stop playing G5 teams. Plenty of room for rivalry games. Rivalry games get good ratings so TV still wants them. The playoffs will go to 14 team format with a 4,4,2,2,1 teams from each cnference with 1 at large.

The reason why you don't talk about Texas Tech is because they lost again Wash St.... If they beat ISU and ISU beats Kansas St, the Big12 is only getting 1 team.... Of course you don't want to include Texas Tech im your top teams ..

The issue the big 12 has is that they have no marquee names anymore and no Utah isn’t marquee, it’s a conference made up of G5 teams and the leftovers from the glory days of the big 12. Iowa st and byu are good teams but they’re not elite and honestly wouldn’t beat any of the elite teams from the SEC or big 10.

This isn’t BYU’s first rodeo. In fact the modern passing game and current NFL coaching trees originated at BYU. I’m pretty sure this is the first time Iowa State has been 6-0.

BYU will and should get respect as they keep winning. Especially in their 2nd and 3rd years of winning. That's when you start getting respect and the benefit of the doubt that Utah just lost.

I think BYU will make the Big 12 championship but Iowa State will not. One team has the best skill talent in the conference, maybe the best overall talent and underachieved last year and started out slowly this year. But they appear to get better every week and have a game at ISU in a couple of weeks.

Iowa State and BYU off a 7 win /3 win seasons.... BYU barely beat Baylor And your both ranked in the top 15 ahead of undefeated B10 and ACC teams .. what more do you want... Getting too much respect. You guys better win in the CFP... If you go 0-1, next year you better be talking about how the Big12 only deserves 1 team, be lucky to have 2.... And that the Power 2 giving you 2 auto bids is a blessing
