That is going to be hard to do once the Big Ten and SEC start their scheduling exclusivity private party. Besides, my team is 1-0 against the Big Ten this year, we did our part.

John used to be far smarter. The reality is that the BIG12 will likely get 1 team in. No more, no less. Sankey's job is to get more SEC teams in, so that means trying to nerf the ACC which will get 1-3 in.

When the TX/OK news broke and others were predicting (if not proclaiming) to which other then P5 the remainders would go, John was one of the few BIG12 attached tubers who was realistic. Since then, he's joined the BIG12's no self-awareness club.

As a Miami fan I agree that the Big12 is better than the ACC which stinks this year, and I agree we were very close so many times, I do say due to our players being cocky historically teams like to beat us, and they play their best games against us, however I am a fan of the Big12 and if you ask me where I want to be if the ACC let's us free I would pick the Big12 because I hate the two monster conferences, and we don't fit in them as a small private school with 14000 students, and the big city supporting pro sports ahead of my canes for the most part.

@@tarheel7406 Make no mistake about it, Michigan, Ohio State and other old guard Big10 schools will never look at Oregon, USC and UCLA as one of their own, same with old guard SEC schools with Texas, Oklahoma and others, because they feel these schools needed their Conference the conferences didn't need them... My canes were never accepted by ACC blue bloods as one of their own, I see the Big12 having lost Oklahoma and Texas as a conference we can be part or rebuilding to old glory and if the right schools are convinced the big12 will be at the same level as SEC and Big10... just an opinion

@@MB-xq9hu I agree with this, and one of the reasons why UNC has passed on the SEC and B1G for decades. If you understand that expansions will never rise to the top of a legacy conference's influencers, why would you expect MIAMI to do so in the ACC? The BIG12 has been fully depleted, so there's a chance there for a MIAMI. There is no feasible path that ends with the new BIG12 with former glory and a peer Tier 1. There are no "right schools" that would move there to accomplish that end. Any school that moves to the BIG12 is accepting a likely permanent relegation down to the Tier 2. BTW... We can't ignore that MIAMI demanded CUSE/BC as +2, which resulted in adding 5 former BIGEAST, none of which have performed to reasonable expectations, MIAMI especially. How can MIAMI complain about any lack of acceptance and/or influence?

XII is definitely not the 2nd best conference in the county buuut all these Power conferences are basically equal. People need to stop letting eSECpn tell them who’s “good” & who isn’t…people have eyes, just fucking use em. PS- SEC has THE WORST OOC record of all Power Conferences…for the 2nd consecutive year. The fact that Sankey says the Big 12 is better, is In itself, an indication that he is a whole lot more scared of the ACC, which is as he should be, since the ACC has 3 teams ranked higher than the Big 12's best. So it is a sort of back-handed compliment to the ACC and a backhanded insult to the Big 12. Also, SMU has only one loss, early in the year, close game, and to a good team. BYU has looked shaky at best and now has two losses. Miami has a blowout win over Florida in Gainesville, which is as good a win than Colorado, BYU, or Arizona State have. By your own reasoning, BYU, Colorado, and Arizona State don't have signature wins either and a worse record. I just love it that big 12 people laughed at SMU as they were trying to get in the Big 12 and they laughed more when the ACC did take them. Look who's laughing and look who's whining now.

Florida, Baylor, and Kansas got off the blocks late. Hitting their stride in the end of the season. UF was smart to keep it's coach. Now, when Houston's coach can turn around the Cougars, it'll give give the Big 12 more Cred. The earth shall be inherited by the meek.

Sanky is saying this only bc he is concerned about the B1G. If he boosts the Big 12 and ACC, he's trying to marginalized the B1G. Honestly, this is the worst position I've seen the SEC in a long time. The conference's elite teams look pedestrian. The SEC hangs is going to hang it's hat on Texas that really hasn't played anyone other than a beleaguered Georgia that whoop up on the horns on their home turf. That's why Sankys trying to hype up the Big 12.

@@1118veritas Which evidences why the ACC has never (and doesn't now) want WVU. A state of mutual disinterest is best, but that doesn't prohibit friendly relations. WVU (and its fans) likely wanted to join the ACC until reality hit when the new BIG12 negotiated its new deal and a new GOR was certain.

From what I see on ESPN, SMU lost to BYU at home by a close margin the 3rd game of the season. Overall... SMU has beaten 2 then ranked opponents and FSU (a big brand albeit having a terrible season). BYU has gone 1-1 vs. then ranked opponents and hasn't played any big brands.

I love the Big 12, but I'm a realist. You go back 3 or 4 weeks ago, BYU and ISU were the Big 12's ticket. They didn't take care business, so here we are. Again, it comes down to non-conference play. No offense John, but you and other Big 12 talking heads do not seem to get it. The narrative is against the Big 12. Respect is not given, it is earned. You earn respect by taking care of business in non-conference play. Can't just be this team or that team. It has to be the majority. Maybe a two loss versus two loss Big 12 Championship wouldn't look so bad, if the conference didn't have losses to Illinois, UNLV, Nebraska, OU, SMU (yeah, BYU beat them, but TCU got throttled), Penn St, 2 losses to Pitt, Washington St, and Florida. Come on man, you got to win the majority of those games and need some marque wins to earn legitimate respect. When you have KU that lost to UNLV and Illinois knocking off the top 3 in the Big 12, the conference just looks like a joke. That's just matter of fact. The conference AD's and Coaches need to get together in get it figured out. Share notes or something, but constantly having a team (like CU) that losses a non-conference game they should've won and still be in the championship conversation in the final weeks of the season sure as hell is not going to earn the conference any respect. Take OSU last year for example. No way they should of lost to South Alabama, but they did and then they ended up in the Big 12 Championship game. Those stupid non-conference losses need to stop. I could care less what other conferences are doing or how they look. I expect the Big 12 to put their big boy pants on and take care of business, but year after year, half the teams do not even look like they are prepared when the season kicks off. They need to do better, plain and simple.

Big 12 could be out, and SEC could have 1 or maybe 2 teams in the playoffs. You have to win on the field. If you have 3 or more losses? you should not be in the playoffs. I don't use that ratings that makes the Big 12 2nd is wrong. The eyeball test is better. The data being used to used for the methods are wrong.

Hey John, are you old enough to remember when the Big 12 turned their nose at SMU😂? Thank god they did or else we would be in that dumpster fire of a conference. Now ACC has a flag in Texas’ top market with the premier institution in DFW. Little ol TCU is now an afterthought. Pony ^!!!
