DUDE, THAT OLD BMW IS SOOO SWEET! It pancakes 🥞 to the ground, oh so very low. I love how it's old European styling with American rocket 🚀 fins on the back of it. Such cool classic styling and looks good in it's original patina. Good job on this car! Great video 📸. Thanks.

Great progress vid on the new Ludwick shop life. It's tough to imagine why people move BACK into the cold (for those of us living in sub-20* temps now) but seeing the back lot at your dad's shop...you indeed have a lot of projects to work on for the next couple of years! Excited about the COB and Flxible...I restored a '75 RV in my suburban driveway and the number of times I wished I had a large warehouse to keep the project and materials dry and noise to a minimum to my neighbors was a constant wish. Good luck and looking forward to more.

I love your cars and the way you have approached their alterations and revival. The only thing I would do differently is, I'd replace the missing sheet metal that's rusted away, and then recreate the patina to blend it back in. I would see that as a way to make them live on longer, be more desirable to another custodian, after I'm gone. I'd also explore VW compatible engine swaps . I had a '68 squareback with a 2.3 Pinto motor that was great, but too heavy. Now there are lots of lighter options. It's wonderful to drive a VW with a decent heater and defrosters, not to mention the power delivery. Would love to see what your dad does with his Corvair down the road also.

FYI… you can narrow the IRS using factory components. The left side axle from a type 3 with an auto trans is 26mm shorter, get two of those and sink the bearing retainers in the control arms the same amount and bob’s your uncle. I did this on my old 72 beetle with sprint stars to tuck them in better

Most likely not, unfortunately! My father raced MK1 VWs here in the lakes region of NH, and was into late 60s GM muscle cars otherwise. My Monza was the first Corvair in the family when I bought it in 2013! I’ve been down to Clarks before though!

If I wasn't being told different I would swear that thing is a VW. I'd bet that that thing is very much like driving a Porsche 356 but I think it would be even more fun as I think it would have more power. But I could be wrong. Still it has some similarities! The engine sounds so smooth and quiet. I also imagine the weight distribution would be sweet. But again I'm only imagining I could be totally wrong.

there used to be kits available to put a v8 in a corvair midships , made it corner like on rails kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZmun2ufmaqUkKc&ab_channel=TheDrive think you can put the transaxle together using rear mount corvette transaxle parts and a normal bellhousing to mount the clutch and trans to the back of the engine nowadays they often use audi transmissions to convert caars to midengine or in kitcars
