The Brasilia will always be THE air cooled VW for me, probably my favourite out of this lot. Super cool to see a few cars I didn’t even know existed! Great content as per usual.

Amazing video. I've known Ross for many years. The MK2 Polo "Breadvan" has an engine and gearbox that we shipped over to NH from Scotland (where we are) back in 2003. Glad to see it's still in his collection. The build is on his website.

From the UK here. This video was awesome, love some of the obscure models from America that we over in the UK/EU didn’t have available. If you like the Type 3 era take a look at the VW Fridolin, you’d love that. Can’t wait to see more on Ross’ collection, so so cool!!

20:40 that’s what’s known as a 6KV variant, closely related to the Seat Ibiza mk2, the Caddy has the same front end, common swap is to put a Ibiza GTi/Ibiza SX front on them. The 6N had a different shape altogether which is what the Harlekin is, I had a “Valver” 16v which has the sportier bumpers and also a 6N2 facelift Openair with the rag top. I love Polos 😅

Okay, the car collection is amazing, but at 24:03 when you go upstairs and pan around the barn... what a vibe, especially with those lights! That's the kinda place I wanna hang out with friends and just talk life and cars haha. Also hopefully this doesn't show up twice haha. I commented once and KZbin got all angry with me.

the VW Fox with a Beetle engine, here in Brazil and called the VW Gol. This version only lasted a few years due to low power. The VW Gol is very popular here in Brazil, with millions of fans, including me. There was a wagon version with the name Parati, the sedan was called Voyage, the pick Up was called Saveiro. And the hatchback is called Gol. They all came with 1.6, 1.8 engines. 2.0 water-cooled. odors similar to the Golf MK3.

Dude this is so good. I worked parts dept at a VW shop in AZ who specialized in air-cooled, and learned a whole lot about a brand I've never really been into, which was neat. I grew up with Corvairs, so I was familiar with air-cooled 60s cars to a degree, but it was kinda funny meeting the old-school dub folks and some of their quirkiness lol

Man to wake up and open a door in your shop and see all that is just amazing! Love love love the K70!! My brother-in-law when stationed in Germany had a Lupo! He wanted to ship home his 3 series but it cost more than he paid for it. Now he wishes he could have sent his Lupo, if legal at the time. That Ghia vert is a 70, wrap around turn signals but early bumpers. Had a chance at buying a Brazilia but passed as I bought my notch the year prior.

Very cool to see a Gol 1 in America, we call them "Kettle Gol" here in Brazil, because of the noise the beetle engine makes with the fan against the wind 😂😂 also they were terrible to drive in the rain, since brand new, the engine always get wet then dies, VW quiclky made them 4 cil watercooled

How cool is it? They have an air-cooled Gol G1. Here in Brazil, we also have the Saveiro with this engine. It is the pick-up version of the Gol. They also have sports versions, which are the GT 1.8, GTS 1.8, GTI 2.0 versions. Here in Brazil, it is the best-selling car in Brazilian history, with more than 9 million units sold in 42 years of history and 9 generations. It was sold from 1980 to 2022. In its place is the Polo, but the Saveiro is still for sale. The Fox, which you know there in the US, is called the Voyage. It was sold from 1983 to 1997. It is sold from 2008 to 2022. The Parati was sold from 1983 to 2012. They had engines of 1.0 8V, 1.0 16V, 1.0 16V turbo, 1.6 8V, 1.6 16V, 1.8 8V.1.8 16V.2.0 8V 2.0 16V,1.0 16V MSI,1.6 16V MSI 1.3 air-cooled is 1.6 air-cooled well this is a little bit of its history.
