Everything specific to a 300 Deluxe, rocker molding for one cant believe yours still has them..."Chevelle" emblems on the fender, the "short" eyebrow moldings at the front fender , that center rear panel emblem between the taillights, also special to a 300 and 300 Deluxe is the taillights and taillight bezels and rear bumper as 300 series didnt have reverse lights in the bumper like the malibu and SS did, and last but not least the whole interior if original is 300 Deluxe specific 300 and 300 Deluxe where similar but the Deluxe has white stripes on the door panels and middle centerline of the car on the seats extremely rare interior to find in decent shape
@JohnLudwick2 жыл бұрын
That is great information! Thank you! My father even said “who knew” about the 300 Deluxe, as they weren’t collector cars yet when they came off the road with rotted frames in 1980. So crazy!

Reminds me of the time that I tried to buy a 67 SS 396 convertible that had been sitting in the owners front yard forever. "No we're going to fix it" I passed it everyday for years. When they were finally ready to sell, unfortunately the car literally broke to pieces.

I need folks help here my brain does not work right this early in the morning. About 10 or 11 years ago a close customer friend brought a 1970 Chevelle here and 1977 Laguna Malibu. Both of em did have frame rot issues having been driven in their early days in the snow here in the North Eastern USA. He did get some frame and sub frame pieces from an internet company located in Arizona. He claims it was good product fit spot on. I don't know the name of that company cannot remember since I mainly do pickup trucks. I deal with AMD metals recently switched to them totally when me or my customer can afford the pricey prices. The AMD stuff fits really well better than the garbage LMC is selling lately.

cool episode! is your dad parting out the cars or sending to scrap?
@@JohnLudwick nice. The episode caught my attention due to a similar vehicle I am hoping to buy in spring. One of the local salvage yards (the owner is a family friend) was a cool place to walk through when I was a kid. The owner loves muscle cars and had a pile of them in the yard. My dads 1970 nova came out of there like 30 years ago. A few rows over from dads car (where all the chevelles sat) there was and still is a real deal 1968 chevelle ss396. It’s been sitting in that same spot on top of a 68 nomad all this time. I’m hoping to bring this car home. Sitting on top of another car keeping it out of the mud, it seems to be pretty rust free.
