@@jimmyers264 Mostly he focused on the insane things the manuals presented on how to do stuff, like wearing a full lab coat and tie. Or cutting sheet goods by putting the blade horizontal, out from the table at gut height, then pushing the sheet through it standing on end. Or using crazy lawnmower shaping blades. Modern RAS units have blade shrouds and guards, too

Sunday morning with a ridiculously cool (and expensive) project. It really doesn't get any better. Thanks for showing the good and the "F-ups" too. It really does make watching entertaining and reassures me that I'm not the only one that waits to the very end of a project to irreversibly screw it up. Thanks!

I love Blacktail Studio!! Also, you should do a "re-do" or "update/fix" video where you do something to adjust the height of the table. It would be a cool part 2 type thing and you would get a taller table.

John, this is amazing. I follow Nick Padulla also. He stated he wanted his workbench to be an extension of his quality of work when customers come into his shop. You have just achieved this as well. When you have potential customers come into your shop and they see this work of art as a workbench that you use everyday, it becomes a selling point. Beautifully done sir and the carving work was the finishing touch

Next time you plan to make lock miter corners on a box, legs, cabinet, etc. save yourself time, effort and a hassle- get a Lock Miter Master setup jig from Infinity. It is a simple, little, inexpensive jig that works with virtually every brand of lock miter bit (has limited capability when used with lock miter shaper bits with replaceable cutters.) No fiddling with multiple test cuts!

Logging is a very dangerous job. I knew a logger he had a tree that was hung up in another tree fall on him it broke his back and he was paralyzed from the chest down for the rest of his life, he cut logs his whole life and was very experienced, be careful out there. Hi 👋, John, very interesting work bench, I built a work bench many years ago, 3Mt x 1-5 Mt , I made the legs the same method as you have made, out of 1 inch thick through and through plywood, with the mitre locking joint, I did put an infill in either end of solid oak, so the framework could be bolted together, the workbench was a vacuum table as well, just over four years ago, I downsize, mainly I moved to France, I’m now in the process of making a small workbench similar to what you have just made, and I still have quite a lot of my machinery, Even a Watkin EKA Tenoner , SCM PLANNER SCM THICKNESSER , 10 hp spindle moulder, tilting head Felder . It looks like you have a decent size workshop, stay safe, and I wish you all the success for the future, Phil from the moulin France.

Loved the video, I’ve been off work a year with vertigo, so I’ve seen a lot of your videos, found them to be great and fun! With this one, the bench looks great, whilst watching it , especially with some of the joints, a few of the expressive lines I sometimes use came to mind… such as “bodge it and sod it” and “close enough for farm work “ came to mind. lol. But it all came good and worked out in the end. “Build it use it bruise it!” Awesome. Keep up the good work. Ithankukindly.

I have the Benchcrafted Crisscross Solo too, and yes, that looks like the correct amount of toe. And, my cheap-ask Grizzly drill press handled drilling the oak in my chop effortlessly. ;-). The bench looks great, and the wave logo came out very nice. Pedulla's bench is very nice. Another good build. If I build yours, I think I'm adding air shocks on one end. I want to get it bouncing, what with all the underlighting. (ha ha). Good stuff guys.

I built my first workbench based on your early bench video. It was an awesome learning experience- which is a nicer way that I F'd it up along the way but learned some valuable lessons. My biggest problem was that the perimeter frame was not square. Maybe off by 1/2". And I forgot to consider a 1/2" stand off from the adjustable table feet and so my Table Saw bench top is not exactly even with the workbench to use as an outfeed table. Regardless, I can adjust and make it work. But I did some drawers and open storage. Only think I should have incorporated a built in vice. And I used the workspace casters that you step on to engage- same ones from your video. They are awesome, but I mounted a bit too low and my table is heavy AF and it's difficult to engage. Anyway, awesome design. I would have maybe did your logo on the top face and filled in the voids with epoxy.
