@PosiCat
@PosiCat 2 ай бұрын
I got one as well for electronics, and yeah, they work great. Love how the gears mesh up so you can manually break loose super-tight screws, and then it takes it the rest of the way out, which is honestly the part that kills your wrist, unscrewing those 15 tiny little screws one after the other. Small screws you don't want super-high torque because it will strip out the screw socket. For woodworking screws, you definitely just want to chuck a bit in your drill, or something designed for a lot higher torque.

Spudger. The metal paddle in the precision screwdriver kit is called a spudger. It's like a prybar that won't scratch plastic, glass or metal and is common in electronics repair. You wouldn't want a high powered precision screwdriver, you'd strip threads, so they're all pretty much 4v. The next step up would be a Vistar or Dewalt 8v screwdriver.

Beats using other tools for those cuts and well the fence does have the mechanism to have it lined with the blade, but where this thing shines there is lock on both ends, while mine bends... I got a few of these items from Amazon as part of the Vine program. The little chainsaw is handy, especially if you have a ton of raspberry bushes to eliminate. I also have that screwdriver, or one very similar anyway, made by Soleilwear. It's got a much nicer case in my opinion, all plastic mind you, but it's not that Borg cube of bits. It's also got a built in magnetizer and a slot for needle nose tweezers and a pry bar. Best precision kit I've ever used, no problem tearing down old laptops and the bits aren't soft. Edit: Yea, the Soleilwear screwdriver is almost exactly the same as the one in the video, just a different case and slightly different driver; mine has a battery indicator and no "speed". Neither are OEM, they're a white label product with whatever dropshipper's name slapped on them. I find it great for electronics and would definitely recommend it if that's your intended use, certainly not a replacement for your standard drivers though.

That electric screwdriver is perfect for computer stuff as high torque is not only not needed, it's actually a selling point to the screwdriver. If you have to put in like 10 screws one after the other and all of them are for delicate components, the last thing you want is to overtorque one screw and accidentally crack a motherboard. The fact that it comes with a pair of tweezers and a little prying bar is a dead give away it was made for use on electronics. I have one (though not the one shown) which works wonders. Low torque for putting most of the screw in, but it can also be used as a bog standard screwdriver to loosen or tighten the rest of the way.

Pull the trigger and the jaws are closing in a half-second and any part of you in the way is gone. So much fun. It also wasn't cheap and it's not built cheap. Nice and solid. I like that it also has a mode so the jaws only open halfway so you can work on thinner stuff faster as you're not waiting for it to open the full 30+mm.

Still not built for heavy duty applications, I'd guess. I'd love to be surprised though. I will say, however, that they're still quality drivers nonetheless and function perfectly for screwdriving tasks. I use the ratcheting version with a quick change bit adapter as a little stubby bit driver and it works a treat for the less stubborn bolts on my machines at work. Vessel makes alot of great stuff even outside of their heralded screwdrivers (I suggest perusing their tool/bit pouches & holders like the mini ball handle bit holder/driver, for example) and I'll never suggest them highly enough.

The small one doesn’t have a ton of power but for what I use it for that’s actually a good thing because the bits are pretty small. It’s more of a precision screwdriver but the larger one they sell it in a set with 6 nm of torque, which is enough for hand screwdriver applications.

Also, $500 for a laser level.... that's just as good as the one costing $13. Yeah, for saving $487 over the Milwaukee version; I can put up with an internal battery that _might_ need to be charged up before I can use it. As far as a budget table saw goes, Skil. We all know DeWALT makes the best one. But not everyone needs the best. (Or can afford "best" prices.) Get the Skil, happy cutting. Tune in next week when John's employees use his credit card to each buy the most dangerously sketchy tools for John to try out. What's that you got there, Sam? A hand grenade!? Dammit!! Hold on John, put on your Shop Shades before you test out that thing.

That Allan key tightening method is common on friction saws (for stone and ceramic). Seeing it on a table saw gives me heart palpitations.

Those type of electric screw drivers are not meant for breaking screws loose. You are meant to break it free by turning it manually while holding the button down, and as soon as it get to the right spot, the driver takes over and finishes winding the screw out. They are made so you don't F up you wrist winding out super fine tread machine screws all day. If you want an electric screw driver that can drive wood screws, you have to buy one of the large chunky ones that have enough torque to screw them.

So the tool on the screwdriver tower is to pry the screen and back off on cell phone. Tweezers for getting into tight spaces or tiny parts. So your computer or electronics is nailing it.

Pry tool is for opening things like laptop cases. Need to slide it in to pop the plastic clips holding the laptop together.

4:10 a spudger is the common term, basically just meant to help disassembly at the same of two injection molded pieces, clamshells so very common with phone/tool assemblies. Definitely is techie-oriented but for the shop can be handy for small power tool maintenance/repair like new trigger on drills or of course the cameras you use. Might as well toss the battery screwdriver itself in trash and keep the bits/spudger themselves and holder in a drawer for when needed for that one really odd technical job down the road.

Small isn't always bad for cordless chainsaws, but build quality matters more than anything for these. I own a 10" blade 18V cordless chainsaw made in Germany that can slice trough branches as thick as my arm just as fast as a motor saw and, at just under 7 lbs (including the battery), is great for pruning large trees from a ladder or harness. I've used it for pretty much everything by now, from removing smaller trees to carpentry and even firewood chopping, it's a bit slow in hard wood but will get the job done, saved me a lot of headaches when my motor saw failed a couple times at the worst possible moment.

I like the Fanttik S1. Its metal and solid and drives things well around the house of just small shit. You got the cheap one, I can't even set screws on electronics with the one you bought, cuz I bought it too and returned it.

That paddle tool in the second tool set you play with is called a spudger tool. It's intended to be used for fixing electronics where you often times have to have a thin tool to slip between case joints to pop off bezels or pop apart pieces of a laptop/phone case. Also used in cases where you have cable plugs that are delicate and you need to prop the plug out of the socket on the board without pulling on the wires (NEVER EVER PULL THE WIRES!)

I bought one of those mini chainsaw's that was compatible with Makita batteries for $40. I adore it for small breakdowns, and I even cut a 6 in tree branch with it. The actual Makita mini chainsaw was almost $200! There's no way it's a 4-5x better tool.

To be fair, if you got that whole kit for under $15, you paid for a battery and got a mini chainsaw kit.

I do landscaping for work and at one of our accounts theres an old couple with a pretty large wooded property. They were having us clear branches and they brought out one of these no-name mini chainsaws to let us use. I proceeded to use it and i was blown away how awesome it was, Even with a generic little 18v battery on it. Much faster and easier than using loppers

Keep in mind Makita machines are actually communicating with the battery, those $40 machines aren't. Which could lead to overload and eventually brick your $80 dollar Makita battery by this cheap machine. I'm not saying these $40 machines are bad, but you gotta make sure what their limits are and don't use em as a professional machine.

The flat thing is known as a spudger. Its for prying open cases. My Hammer K3 has a similar way to attach the blade. Much bigger and easier to access but essentially the same. Its really secure but also has drive pins.

So I have the second tool showed off in this video. It's definitely more for electronics than household screwdriver needs. Like you said in the video it is something use more for like a laptops or computers or something along those lines. It's not something that's going to replace other tools but it's kind of a good to have set just in those niche scenarios.
