Summary: 1. Research Organizational Structure (to understand where titles are inflated or organization is flat/hierarchical) 2. Resume Title Matching/Naming (to make sure your resume says that you are looking for exactly the role that you are applying for, recruiter boolean search: job title, keywords, education) 3. Resume Formatting (most important; simple+traditional formatting puts less cognitive load on recruiter, recruiter specific, LinkedIn standardizes candidate profiles) 4. Resume Content (IMPACT more than responsibilities) 5. LinkedIn Structure (updated, matches resume exactly, description of each role and education, good bio, activity is important)

Tejaswi Nagpal, do you do Amazon resume coaching? I like your summary based on what you heard but it is not so specific. I attended Amazon Career Day 9/16/2020 Wednesday. There was couple panelist say we should use Microsoft Template to create a resume. Then later on I was put with a Job Coach; she said to have the resume get into their HR ATS system which is a filtering feature for keywords. I have to put keywords from the Amazon job description so I will be able to get in. Since it was a very brief chat: There are still things I don't understand: If I want an Account Executive job with Amazon and my resume was most experiences from the Federal and City government Level. How do I put into the keywords from the Amazon job description to my current job? Overall, I also want to know if you can recommend an Amazon coach who will do personalized coaching for a fee. Please let me know. We are in a very heavy recession right now; I would really love it if I can land a job with Amazon a great company to work with.

Thank you for this valuable content! As a marketer with a diverse background spanning many areas of the field, I often find myself tailoring my resume extensively for each job application, emphasizing specific aspects of my experience depending on the role. However, when it comes to LinkedIn, I’m unsure how to approach this without losing focus. What's your advice? Thank you!!

Hey John, thanks for posting this. I do have a question for you, what are your tips for getting those "coffee chats"? I've reached out to numerous folks through LinkedIn about taking them to coffee to find out more about their specific roles and other questions I have regarding their day to day but have yet to even get a response from anyone. Thoughts?
@RaGrewal-qb4rk5 жыл бұрын
Kevin McHugh - I would say when it comes to reaching out to people on LinkedIn - its all about quality rather than quantity. If your message comes off as genuine - people will want to talk to you. This year, I have only sent 2 messages to CEO's asking for coffee and they both founded companies that I admire and I genuinely wanted to learn more about them and their company so my message was genuine and personable and they were both open to meeting up. If messages don't work - my third attempt is to always send a hand written note. Its easy - write a note and hand deliver it to the front desk. You would be surprised with the feedback you will get. No one does that these days and that's why they have a huge impact.

Kevin McHugh I think getting a coffee chat is a bit hard because we are in the midst of Pandemic. I was wondering the same thing. I try to go on linkedin to see if there is anyone who will provide tips and tricks how to set up a resume that contains keywords so the Amazon recruiter will be able to match up. To pay for a coaching session how to get to Amazon is very expensive approximately $2000.

Is Amazon extremelt stressful? I am interviewing for Catalog Associate in Netherlands, basically uploading content for sellers at Amazon Vendor Services, editing descriptions and stuff likw this. I am just worried that they will use me as a machine and it is never enough, most horrible experiences I saw are from warehouse workers, not sure about office jobs. Any ideas?

3:55 Project Manager, Program Manager, Senior...Manager,...what about Project Manager, PR Manager...? 😵 6:36 They giving him beef of formatting because the generations are also becoming more & more complacent. Especially when it comes to spelling. I can't TELL YOU how many times I've come across self-proclaimed intelligent or even arrogant people who can't spell or correctly use simple words such as _your_ vs. _you're_ or _you are_ (imo or experience, the biggest culprit to fit that category). 7:42 10-minute or 10-second glance? I respect John and his enthusiasm during the interview, but I hope or wish that his interjections could be toned down just a little so that I cannot guess what she's going to say. I prefer that she finish her thoughts as he not talk over her so I can get the full understanding of where she's coming from or trying to go.🤔 But altogether this is great content, particularly at 13:14-14:25⭐, & I thank them for sharing.
