Whether they sound exactly like a Vox or not, the Vox tones have been my favorite Line6 models since even in the Flextone days. I used to use one for "dirty" all the time and people used to ask what model it was because it sounded so good. Will definitely be exploring some of these sounds on my Pod Go!! By the way, great playing!

This made me stand up, raise my hands to heaven and sway from side to side in an ecstasy of communication with my maker. I probably should have pulled over to the side of the road and got off my bicycle first, but they say I'll be walking again in a few weeks. The pheasant, though ... well, he didn't make it.

Love your Dark Vox preset! I set it up in my HX Stomp and feed it into the power amp section of my Katana MKII. I don't play worship music but I really like it for general rhythm playing. Have to admit I first thought the 3.5 KHz high cut might be a bit extreme but it works. Thanks.

Sounds great! Imho the key for worship music is dotted 8th delay that comes before the amp. And then a long reverb that makes it sound like a church (so quite bright, long, but not too much mix). Mostly clean with a hair of brake up.

It’s the bright chime coupled with verbs. Matchless are getting nearly as popular for its chime and midrange. A lot of contemporary church music has tended to sound post-rock-ish with tons of ambient reverb and delay for a celestial type of sound. My wife is a minister, so I play in the services she runs at her appointed church and I often use JC’s Vox presets adjusted for my guitars. His sound a lot better live than the stuff I come up with.

One day could you please explain, to a complete novice at modelling devices, how you connect up to get your sounds? I have no idea whether I am listening to your playing through an amp, a speaker cabinet, a computer or some other musical interface. By the way, love your channel; I marvel at your technique and the musicality of anything you play from jazz to funk. G

Anytime he is using a modeler (helix/axe fx) he is running direct out of the device into an audio interface and recording into a daw, which is what we are hearing.

Hi John. These are great sounding and will probably use these sounds on my stomp 😊 On a related note to Vox, I’m guessing you’ve seen the new UA pedals? Are you thinking of taking a look at them? They seem to sound pretty groundbreaking in all the demos but obviously fall really short in terms of bits like midi control…
@johnnathancordy2 жыл бұрын
Hmm I'd be sceptical in general I think - UA have offered amp plugins for ages, and for whatever reason I don't hear tons of people raving about those?
@timhopkins38102 жыл бұрын
@@johnnathancordy that’s fair enough and kind of makes sense as you never hear about them in comparison to others like the Neural plugins for example. I’ve seen a few reviews claiming they’re amazing but no real proper side by side comparisons yet with the big few modellers (helix/iridium/acs1/boss etc)… If they’re ever in stock in Mansons I may check them out to see what the fuss is all about but at the moment it’s a lot to spend on just 1 amp model

@@johnnathancordywould love you to do another pod go video. I use external gear into the pod go. It takes my knight audio technologies treble booster plush (as mentioned previously I am a massive BM fan and gear owner etc and have the presets of his live rig: delay, chorus, harmonizers etc, ac30 fawn normal kat built amps recreates in pod go with Celestion blue and g12h anniversary speakers with 421 mics centre of cone) but I also use tones of Coldplay too so swells and momentry footswitches in pod go. You could make a video on this using the momentry footswitches as what you can do like I do is create a freezing effect within the swelll which is great with the block hack.

Hey! I've been loving your content. Your patches have been sounding great on my HX stomp. Question for you! I'm on staff at a church and we're looking at putting together a house electric rig. I'm debating between the Helix LT, or a Pod Go with the UA Dream and UA Ruby stereo in the FX loop. What would you recommend? I really like the dynamic plate reverb on my stomp, and the compressors and drives are great too. I've heard really good things about how realistic the UA pedals are. I figured this might be a good solution that gives us the best of both worlds (for pretty much the same price as the Helix LT. What are your thoughts?

It's really funny cos most players I know who use the AC30 for church all play the normal channel, as do I. The normal is actually a very warm channel. We all use a ton of pedals, and the tone knobs on our Klons, voyagers, or tubescreamers are pretty high to add in that brightness. Why not run the brilliant (top boost) channel instead? Eh, Idk. It just works out that the normal takes pedals really well. All three channels sound fantastic really, but the normal lets you put basically any pedal or number of pedals in front all at once, and you never have to worry about it sounding overdone. Anyway, I always see people talk about the top boost channel. I think if you actually tried the normal channel of a real AC30/6 with a worship players board...you'd get it. I know this is all modelling, but yea.
