You have to love Tomo if you love to learn guitar! He reminds me of a coach I had growing up who not only taught you the task at hand but how to use the mental side of it in life and not be so hard on yourself. If you've never experienced that type of teaching before, I have to say that it is a process but you will get to levels that others see you as amazing while in your mind you're still striving to be better ... just not trying to be the other guy or girl. His Guitar Wisdom course is right up my alley and loving every minute of it. Even though I have been playing a while, even going back through the basics you find holes in your skills. Maybe you've just evolved into a different method after learning them or maybe you never learned them but it does help to fill in the holes ... even if you don't always use them. It's just another tool in the bag that you can reach back and pull out for something different. Keep doing what you do Tomo and thank you!

Django was a very good accomplished guitarist with just three fingers it was amazing how he played because we struggle with the finger we have and played fast as I think he was just good at jazz musician it’s a good job he didn’t count the fret else would not have been able to do what he did

Tomo he’s basically playing the original Johnny B Goode lick however Chuck never leaves the sixth fret. Many live versions of the song are moved to the key of C. And when you really look at it, just like Jimi Hendrix he never played it the same way twice! A master lesson tomo from a Berklee alumni. Love the way you showed the B-flat blues and where all this can go!

Thanks! Don't know how I missed this last year but I'm glad I found it. Loved that you explained what Chuck Berry borrowed from T-Bone Walker and showed straight vs swing versions of the same musical ideas. It was ear opening and mind expanding to hear the connections between jazz, blues, rock and country guitar playing back then. I always avoided Johnny B Goode because I suck at double stop slides but I'll take out my '59 ES-225 and try to put your lesson to use. Like your ES-330 mine has a single P-90 in the middle position but it's got a single cutaway, a floating bridge and the neck joins the body at the 14th fret. I know how you love guitars with a single pickup in the middle.

They way he shows how Chuck "laid down the law" for rock guitar is so right. You illustrate all the importance of Chuck's nuance. Eric illustrates the historical stamp that Chuck imposed on music. Mr.Tomo I am so greatful for YOU and GUITAR WISDOM!!! This is my experience so far I went through the lessons skipping around ofcourse I realized that I had to learn the TRIADS so I started with the circle of 5ths and went from F to C to G to D to A to E to B to Ab/ G# and then Bb to Eb to Ab and D flat !!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IS ALL OF THEM !!! HOWEVER I REALIZED AFTER I WENT THROUGH THE 7TH CHORD INVERSION'S I HAVE THEM DOWN AND 1 , 4 AND 5 CHORD IN A FEW KEYS !!!!I DIGRESS, I WENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING AND REALLY AM RE-LEARNING THE ENTIRE FRETBOARD VERY SLOWLY LIKE YOU SAY WITH JUST THE C SCALE I AM LEARNING TRULY HOW TO PLAY BY EAR BY GOING EXTREMELY SLOW THINKING OF EVERY NOTE EVERY DEGREE VERY VERY SLOWLY AND SINGING ALONG !!!I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW FAST IM LEARNING IT'S NOT AMAZING TO ME THAT I LEARNED ALL THE MAJOR TRIADS BUT WHAT AMAZES ME IS THAT BY LEARNING THE TRIADS AND CORRECTING THE DEATH GRIP I HAD ON THE NECK , MY TECHNIC IS WAY BETTER, EVERYTHING IS CLEAN AND CLEAR AND I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THE GUITAR AND IT'S FRETBOARD!!!
