Elvis was the King, a glamorous man who ruled the period and covered himself with jewelry and women. Johnny Cash was the soldier, the man who stood among the people, he saw the darkest parts of this world but he still stood out front to confront the bad things happening all around Thank You Johnny Cash RIP.

The greatness of these lyrics is that they can be taken literally or metaphorically; a hidden message is in them. That was Cash's brilliance. Not to mention his voice, diction ... still miss him but his legacy - his voice - will never die.

I know of the song, my dad was a huge Johnny Cash fan and had everything he ever sang however I just saw an episode of CSI Miami I've never seen and was stunned when I heard the song. I'm not a big CSI Miami fan so I haven't seen them all like Vegas and NY but I was reading and it was background noise. My brother and I survived 9/11 and the War in Iraq, we knew people that lost their lives there. My brother had severe survivor's guilt and committed suicide shortly after my dad died a few years ago. I had surgery 3 months ago and coded on the table and in recovery...it's gonna be Thanksgiving in a few days and I hear Johnny singing about being thankful for the journey..Christ it's like my dad and brother speaking from heaven. My brother and I both were drinkers and addicts. I've been clean and sober almost 3 years. I've been really questioning things lately but I feel so much better. Some will say that's stupid but there's those out there that will understand.

Lyrics: With the twilight colors falling And the evening laying shadows Hidden memories come stealing from my mind And I feel my own heart beating out The simple joy of living And I wonder how I ever was that kind But the wild road I was rambling Was always out there calling And you said a hundred times I should have died Then you reached down and touched me And I lifted me up with you So, I believe it was a road that I was meant to ride I'm like a soldier getting over the war I'm like a young man getting over his crazy days Like a bandit getting over his lawless ways I don't have to do that anymore I'm like a soldier getting over the war There are nights I don't remember And pain that it's been forgotten And a lot of things I choose not to recall There are faces that come to me In my darkest secret memories Faces that I wish would not come back at all But in my dreams parade of lovers From the other times and places There's not one that matters now, no matter who I'm just thankful for the journey And that I've survived the battles And that's my spoils of victory is you I'm like a soldier getting over the war I'm like a young man getting over his crazy days Like a bandit getting over his lawless ways Everyday gets betther than the day before I'm like a soldier getting over the war

Going through Johnny Cash, queen, pink floyd, blondie,kiss, the beatles, and all the great artist who walked this earth in the past. Still listening to all his old records. My 10 year old sister enjoys listening to it with me, so there's hope people. No justin bieber in this house ! I also have a weak spot for buddy holly in my heart.

Johnny Cash was a man whose heart beat with the rhythm of love and social justice. He received humanitarian awards from, among others, the Jewish National Fund, B’nai Brith, and the United Nations. He championed the rights of Native Americans, protested the war in Vietnam, was a voice for the poor, the struggling and the disenfranchised, and an advocate for the rights of prisoners.

I have my own demons to overcome. They torture me every night even tough i have stopped. I feel like the bandit getting over my lawless ways. I don't want that life any more. I remember all the pain. Only way to fight a demons is to hit it in the face. Beat it down. i suppose we all have demons Once we beat them we will all be free. RIP Mr Cash
@TheMusicloverT10 жыл бұрын
The One who took Johnny's demons away was Jesus Christ. His blood cleanses, redeems, and protects us. Read (Psalm 91) Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

Myhearts4Jesus I believe in Jesus but don't exclude others. we all have to find salvation in our own way. I have stopped my ways but yet to find forgiveness. i pray there is hope that i can. Think John's good things friend said it best (Mr Kris Kristofferson) "you don't have to be as good as jesus to start out with". We can all be forgiven. We can all be forgiven in our own way. Good luck to those struggling with their inner demons. I have pounded mine but yet to feel forgiven. Please pay for me or wish me luck. Thanks all :D

There is no limits to what Jesus can do. When a person truly repents with a sorrowful heart then Jesus does forgive them. Their slate is wiped away clean. Jesus is awesome, and He is the only one who can lead us to Salvation. We cannot find it ourselves...it is Jesus who draws us near by the power of His Holy Spirit. If you believe you have demons, then Jesus can set you free. Rebuked them in the name of Jesus. Plead Jesus' blood over you each time an attack happens. Here is a Bible passage for you. Jesus delivered a man who was possessed with a "Legion" of demons. If you don't know what a Legion is look it up online. Jesus Heals a Man with a Demon 5 They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes.[a] 2 And when Jesus[b] had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit. 3 He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain, 4 for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. 6 And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him. 7 And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” 8 For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” 10 And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. 11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, 12 and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.” 13 So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea. 14 The herdsmen fled and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened. 15 And they came to Jesus and saw the demon-possessed[c] man, the one who had had the legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. 16 And those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and to the pigs. 17 And they began to beg Jesus[d] to depart from their region. 18 As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. 19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.
