I will be happy to see the day when we all see each other simply as fellow travelers on this journey of life. When we are seen only for öur character¨, not our color¨. Identification can separate. I think Morgan Freeman nailed it. Check out his answer to the question ¨what do we do about racism¨? But, I truly understand what you were trying to express, though. Maybe listen to MLK and go a bit deeper. Bless you.

@@notthathoneybee I am the child of an Indian father and Irish mother so I speak from personnal experience rather than let others to speak for me but of course any speech by MLK is worth listening to and his words are as relevant today as they were in the 1960s People here in the UK are probably just as familiar with great man and his work as Americans are and his life is celebrated in many ways here

Pop Staples was what Johnny Cash, and June Carter needed to blend in beautifully with their voices. Pop Staples signing with his daughters back in the day's were a group I loved to hear in their days. The Staple singers. Pop Staples sang this song with another group of great singers. Pop Staples was a rolling stone in his day's. God rest Johnny, June, and Pop Staples soul in heaven. I can hear them singing this song in heaven, pleasing God.

Too brilliant for any words. This is the best. I modeled my rendition on old-time banjo after the Staple Singers. So haunting and wonderful. I left playing my 12 string, banjo and recorder during Covid to write a children's fantasy (fantasy stories can tell reality better than some non-fiction--you can say the truth so easily.) I am no one you've ever heard. So what. I love you all so well--your music, your truth and goodness in song.

I love this song. I just sang it at my brother's funeral. Just changed up some of the words a little. I barely made it through the 1st verse before all the tears started. I practiced without crying, but when I saw him in the casket it was completely different.....there's a better home awaiting for my brother in the sky.
This song makes me cry, smile and sing ....as my 87 year old mother is sitting here right now reading her magazines.....she looked up and said I like that song too keep singing it.

aaron foster God’s Angel to Prepare the Way Exodus 23:20-23 New International Version (NIV) 20 “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him. Malachi 3:1 New International Version (NIV) 3 “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty. New American Standard Bible Final Admonition Malachi 4 1“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the LORD of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” 2“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. 3“You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing,” says the LORD of hosts. 4“Remember the law of Moses My servant, even the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel. 5“Behold, I am going to send you Elijah (on the Pope Francis) the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. 6“He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.” Matthew 11:14 And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. Mark 9:11 And they asked Jesus, "Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first? Luke 1:17 And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." John 1:21 "Who are you then?" they inquired. "Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" He answered, "No." Isaiah 40:3 A voice is calling, "Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God. Joel 2:31 "The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. Zephaniah 1:14 Near is the great day of the LORD, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the LORD! In it the warrior cries out bitterly. Matthew 28:19-20 New International Version (NIV) 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teachingthem to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mark 16:15 New International Version (NIV) 15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Ezekiel 18:4 King James Version (KJV) 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Matthew 4:19 New International Version (NIV) 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” Revelation 20:6 New International Version (NIV) 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. Revelation 22:11 Let the unrighteous continue to be unrighteous, and the vile continue to be vile; let the righteous continue to practice righteousness, and the holy continue to be holy." Ezekiel 24:27 'On that day your mouth will be opened to him who escaped, and you will speak and be mute no longer. Thus you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the LORD.'" Ezekiel 29:21 "On that day I will make a horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth in their midst. Then they will know that I am the LORD." Matthew 24:37-42 New International Version (NIV) 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. Daniel 12:1-3 New International Version (NIV) The End Times 12 “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people-everyone whose name is found written in the book-will be delivered. 2 Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise[a] will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
