Dear Johnny, I was saved by God 2 months ago....I was a hard smoker....I felt so weak and said to God I can't make it....then I dreamed a dream with Jesus and the next day I felt the strengh...eventually I stopped....for about a month...then a sad situation happened and although I felt the strengh in my heart to handle it,I chose old attitude and smoked again😢😢😢 After that I stopped again,but now I smoke again😢😢😢 I feel ashamed....I pray every day,but yet don't manage😢please pray for me and if u have any insights how can I stop...😢😢😢God bless you, Yana

Wow, good looking out brother Chang! I really needed to hear every word that was said. I have been trying to overcome this addiction for years and I have come to that place where I figured I was just going to die a miserable death because I wasn't getting better, just worse. I have nobody close to me that believes the Good News. I have been isolating hard for years and because of how I look and feel from the drugs destroying my health I have so much shame. I would love to join a church, but I can't open up to people when I have teeth missing and I look tore up. I guess that is pride. I heard shame and self pity can be a form of pride or selfishness. I live in West Los Angeles if anyone is down to fellowship. Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned my teeth. LOL! Anyways, God bless you all!!!

I was heavily addicted to marijuana and would smoke everyday but I found god and haven’t smoked in 17 days is it ok to smoke once in a while like ones every 4 months as long as I have a grip of it or should I quit all the way?

I am an addiction counselor, and I just want to say, the disease model of addiction is more about treating the disease of addiction with behavioral therapies, not really medication. There is Medication Assisted Treatment which involves medications, but is usually coupled with group and individual counseling
