I get it dude im in my 30s and still have issues left over from childhood I'm trying to get over and like you used alcohol to cope, it's not easy socializing or anything sober and I have some work to do but at least you chose to address the issue and get help, it might be a long road to healing before you but you've got this. I've been listening to a7x for over 20 years at this point thank you for the music you've made for us. get better and stay strong man

Thanks for sharing this experience, I'm only a couple minutes into the video, but I had a similar episode about a year ago and it really impacted me in a way that I didn't expect. Its always encouraging to see that the people we look up to and respect also have such human experiences. Wishing you the best!

@@joshvaughan3403 I couldn't agree more. One of many reasons I have respect for Johnny he talks about his experiences and shows us he's just like us. One of many reasons I love Avenged Sevenfold is that they show us sometimes life sticks but we all can navigate through it.

Again thank you so much for sharing your story. I've been through some really horrible crap. Some stuff I have no problem talking about. Like losing my best friend of 18 years to heroin and fentanyl. But others like my childhood Stuff I just just started opening up because I pushed it so far down trying to forget it. ❤ But good for you on reaching out for help and doing what was needed. Can't wait to see where 2025 takes this podcast and what adventures you have

This was amazing. I'm so glad you are feeling better, johnny and willing to work on yourself even more. We,as humans, deserve to be happy even on a deeper meaning and i'm glad to see that in you(i've been a fan for almost 15 years now). I am dealing with some stuff too, currently 30 years old and discovering adhd and autism jjust now,its life changing. I'm processing 30 years of life in a new light.not easy but i'm proud of us. Keep it up. ❤ hugs

Thank you very much. Having dealt with trauma as well I stopped drinking probably 10 years ago best thing I did. I completely understand everything that was said here. This was extremely brave and inspiring. Definitely the realist the I’ve seen in awhile. I wish only the best for him on his journey I feel his coming out of this the best self.

I dealt with some trauma and trauma responses using EMDR - light therapy, of a sort, to get some of those brain pathways untangled. My therapist referred to it as removing a splinter from those wires so they can regrow. It was incredibly helpful. I'm so glad you had a therapist ready to provide you the resources for the help you needed, and happy you shared this story. Sharing that this kind of help is out here can help so many people! Even if you can't afford a facility like this, things like EMDR are available at a much lower cost and can be hugely helpful.

One day last summer I felt what seemed all these thoughts come into my head at the same time. Didn’t know when one began and another started. Felt overwhelmed and told my wife I didn’t feel right. It felt as if I’d always be like that. Sat in the warm grass and had a breakdown of some sort and then eventually it passed. Nvr had anything like that before or since. It was so weird. The human brain is so complicated maybe it was just a malfunction of some sort

Johnny, if you were to ever open up your own mental health treatment center, whether it's similar or not to Sierra Tucson...I would be one of the first people to sign up for it! lol In all seriousness though, this was a powerful and eye opening episode that I'm glad I watched. As someone who deals with on and off moments of depression, I would say it's definitely a struggle and a battle as well when we're trying to live our lives. I'm still coming off the sting of a long term relationship with my ex and she and I were together for several years. At this point in my life, as a single father right now I'm not only committed to my goals for the new year, but I'm also taking responsibility for my mental health and am actively looking for a therapist. Any resources, wisdom, and support from you would definitely be appreciated. Much love brother! 🙏🏻👊🏻

what do you do when you have life long medical trauma? I don't trust _ANYONE_ I had gone to therapy, but I have to protect myself and my family. I'm aware certain times, I'm looney tunes about it, but heading about this makes my anxious in itself. I'm grateful and delighted it worked for Johnny, truly! Maybe it's too close to even more medical trauma at this point..
