Likewise. I was totally baffled that some songs are already 5 or 10 years old and I had never heard of the man before. Why is this not an absolute shooting star and wins at all award shows? Some songs deserve ten times as many views.

Come let's be gentle, be soft in my arms There's moonstorms been brewing and grain in the barns Your mother is sleeping, I'll play my guitar The twilight is keeping us close to the stars Here's where the stories live, here with the peace Oh the kindly ol' night wrapped warm in her fleece Oh dream up a hot day, oh dream and be full Of Orion, his bow, the plough and the bull Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Go trust in their strength for these are your friends And pledge in them now for their love knows no end The bull looks a meanie but he's on your side And he pulls the plough which comes and divides Put space in the heavens, Einstein's idea And he's your friend too, so nothing to fear Orion'll help there, his darts find the dark And all you need do is watch for his mark Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling The suns and the moons and the galaxies far Were cast from his bow before they were stars Oh and the gap in-between them is nothing to us Our eyes cut the distance as loving eyes must From me unto you son from dust unto dust Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling Oh, my darling

Johnny Flynn is still a very young man and will ultimately be well known and already is.. noone needs to be a superstar. If his muse is his mentor then he will always just be this... no fame necessary. The very best of muse'gicians have small followings. Their music is for them first.. this prolific writer and pleasing singer has decades of the road before him. Ups and downs and so it goes.

Glad you said it- there are some odd hierarchical ideas of what success is out there in the hive mind. the idea that all musicians are more or less following in the wake of say, T. Swift or K. West and travelling in the same direction... uurrgghh how awful would that be?

i am a fan of his movies, and series, especially The Outfit and Ridley. I suspect that if he plays his cards right, and gets the right backing, he may go far in film maybe even an academy award... not that that's everything, but a fresh presence sure would be nice next to all this so called star power being promoted. also, he has been working closely in live theater and film with Mark Rylance a unique actor who was well known only in english theater circles and surprisingly won an academy award a few years ago. Rylance is also a unique presence and was the main actor in my favorite film, Angels and Insects, relatively an unknown, and they both have similar earnest deliberate qualities.
