Such mixed emotions for me. I so miss Moz's voice it hurts. But I simply can't ignore or ever forget how Johnny's beautiful once in a lifetime guitar work was the glue. I can't pick a side in this. I'm just thankful they both are still giving us SOMETHING to hold onto by continuing to play. One thing for sure, it will never eclipse the two together. Morrissey & Marr forever...

@thedeadxtras9927 Жыл бұрын
Morrissey & Marr definitely one of the best all time songwriting duo’s. Yes Moz’s voice made the original recording with Johnny’s exemplary guitars, lyrics, vocals and music complementing each other perfectly and like no other. Johnny primarily is a guitarist who then started singing for his solo work, over time, practice and experience his voice has improved tremendously like the case with anything and anyone, the more you do something the more you improve and get better. Also being a lead singer and playing lead/rhythm guitar at the same time isn’t an task as a musician to do well and sound good, lots to do simultaneously remember words, music, sing in tune, play guitar, remember song arrangements, plus changing guitar effects tin time throughout songs with your feet isn’t easy! And women say men are no good at multitasking??? As well as listening to the other musicians in the band and getting sound levels balanced between you all, plus entertaining an audience with charisma and good stage presence. It’s not like singers you see strumming a couple of chords on an acoustic guitar as backing and they have a lead guitarist playing the complex parts and a rhythm guitarist playing the chords.

What a difference in cords compared to Moz's guys. I mean they're good but no one can match JFM's signature sound. He's not a singer but it's enough to get by no doubt. This REALLY sounds like The Smiths as it should.

After andy's lawsuit, I think a reunion would be a sad affair with morrissey and marr hating the other guys on stage. So i hope it doesn't happen. I saw marr with his band recently amazing!

Double talent in a band is a key to success, Morrissey and Marr were never on the same page, but both were so talented in their fields, respected each other, and it made great music. I'm happy with their separate adventures, and if there was a reunion, I'd hope they treated it as it began, make new music.

It's interesting that both Marr and Morrisey have chosen real characters to play the music. Both bands have a distinct musician personality.

This band is better than the Chipendales dancers that Morrisey has for a band. The guys he's had have no vision and lack depth musically. The drummer isn't doing the fills properly, which shouldn't happen. Marr's singing is way better than I expected. It also blows my mind that he's playing guitar and singing this song, which is way off the beat frequently. Mad props for pulling it off. The leads at the end have his signature sound.
