The original meaning in the 1950’s was just about having fun in the early rock era and getting lost in the fun of the music!

My favorite Johnny Rivers song. That boogie woogie piano is awesome! You can't help but move to this rhythm!! 🙂 The actual guy playing the piano on this particular recording is Larry Knechtel, a member of the famous group of session musicians called "The Wrecking Crew". Larry was also the keyboardist for the group Bread which is surprising because most of Bread's music is soft pop-rock and nothing like this song. So I guess Larry really enjoyed getting to show off his piano skills on this song!! He also was skilled on the guitar, bass and harmonica. He played the lead guitar on Bread''s hit, "Guitar Man". By the way you guys would really love some of Bread's beautiful music, They had many hits written by David Gates who was the lead singer.

Larry also won a grammy award for his piano work on Simon and Garfunkel's huge hit song, "Bridge Over Troubled Water"

I'm 73. If I die from Rockin' Pneumonia and Boogie Woogie Flu, I will be happy to go that way. Peace out. By the way, Andre has got the "head bobbing" down.

I like the piano too. Tickling the ivories. I was surprised to find out this was the same artist that did Secret Agent Man.

This brings back fond memories of my 3 older sisters dancing to records in the living room while babysitting my brothers and me while mom and dad went out on the town! (the 4 youngest wasn't even born then) 2 of those sisters are now gone and so are those 2 brothers! The joy you had listening to this song was multiplied in my memories of much simpler times. Cherish those you know and love and love the people you don't even know for even they can bring joy! The two of you are great! Thank you so much for bringing back a 52 year old memory❤😊

This song was released in September 1972, when I started my freshman year of high school. Great song by a great musician and singer. I love how you both react to the songs; André, your head is bopping to this song. Keep it up!😊

Boy does that bring back fond memories. I was a sophomore in high school in 1959 and remember dancing to the song by Huey Piano Smith. Great reaction. Another song you cannot stay still while listening to.

Almost certain was out in 72. This is 🔥🔥🔥🔥!!! Also one of my favorites by him. I believe he's still performing yet in 24, no doubt it would be a good concert. Also Mountain of Love to me is great another one of my favorites.

Great recording. Larry Knetchel from The Wrecking Crew on piano. Also the pianist on Bridge Over Troubled Water. Organ on God Only Knows and Good Vibrations. The bass player on Light My Fire. The guitar solo on Bread's Guitar Man. Basically a god.

I’ve enjoyed going on this Johnny Rivers journey with you. I’ve known all the songs, but I couldn’t have told you that it was Johnny Rivers who sang them, so I’m glad to be educated. I have to admit I am surprised at how many hits he had. Another song you might enjoy is called My Daddy Don’t Dance and My Mama Don’t Rock ‘n’ Roll by Loggins & Messina that has a similar vibe to this one. I used to get the two songs mixed up in my head. Not that they sound exactly alike but they have a similar theme going on. Hope you give it a listen.😊 PS if you like the piano, check out anything by Jerry Lee Lewis, but Great Balls of Fire is probably his biggest hit (if you haven’t already reacted to him. I haven’t watched all your videos!) Try to find a live video of hm playing when he was younger, he was a fireball hmself back then, lol. 😂
