A great movie from back when Disney actually cared about America.

I learned to love history from watching Disney movies.

Whatever grade it was when I read "Johnny Tremaine", we also watched this movie -around 1965. This fairly catchy song is all I remember, over 50 years later. It's awfully wonderful that everyone in this impromptu procession knows the words to this song and can stirringly sing it in perfect unison, especially knowing when to go into the different lyrics of the last verse and all end at the same time.

Saw this in third grade about 31 years ago. Just Watched Sons of Liberty on History channel. This brings back great memories of my childhood. I WAS so proud of the United States. Years later i wish it was the same but time changes. But every person in America is blessed for the Sons of Liberty! Thank you Sam Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock and the others who created the greatest experiment of all time. Leading to the greatest country of all time!

They have a liberty tree in Disney land's Colonial America, and have 13 lanterns hanging from it. Also if you look around, one of the buildings 2nd story windows has two lanterns in it. Nice little easter eggs to find there.

Celemir Elewen I agree absolutely! Too bad that my generation is too vapid and selfish to do so.

Exactly! We've become a nation of slouches, too cowardly or just downright lazy to do what needs to be done. I think I'm the only teenager who's trying to stir up a Revolution, and it's rather discouraging to know I won't succeed. We could easily fix this country if we just got down to it and were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to do so.

The US is turning 240 this year!
@nitdiver57 жыл бұрын
The US stopped being a nation in 1913 with the creation of the illegal Federal Reserve Bank. It has since been a vassal to the Vatican.
@ChickSage7 жыл бұрын
+nitdiver5 Vassal to the Vatican? Please, elaborate.
@nitdiver57 жыл бұрын
Chick Sage: To explain it in any meaningful way would take a long time. The Vatican runs the central banking system to all nation-states and the secret societies and Islam. Ours is called the Federal Reserve Bank. Many people are aware that it is owned and operated by the Rothschild family. Benjamin Franklin said the primary reason for the War of Independence was to prevent the Rothschilds from taking over as they had already done in Europe (watch the documentary titled "The Money Masters). Fewer people are aware that the Rothschilds answer to the Vatican. The quickest way to see this link is to go onto Google images and type in "Catholic all seeing eye." You will see the same symbol of a pyramid, eye, and sunburst that has been on the back of the Federal Reserve Note (i.e. dollar) since 1935 is all over the Catholic Church and Vatican and has been for centuries. This single all-seeing eye represents Lucifer. Those in and associated with the illuminati use symbols to communicate. In John 8 Jesus said, "I am the light of the world..." Lucifer wants to be worshiped so he becomes an imitation light of the world. The sun, the "light of the world" becomes his symbol. It is Lucifer's secret knowledge (occult) that is the source of illumination to the illuminati. So if you do a study on religious (i.e. pagan) sun symbols you will find that almost everything in the Vatican is a sun symbol. The Eucharist is in the shape of a sun disc. The Monstrance is the shape of a sun burst. Any cross that has a circle on it is sun worship. Any cross that flares out on the ends is a sun cross. The sun is usually shown as a disc like behind the heads of subjects in Catholic art. Or it is shown as a sun burst like a monstrance or on the back of the dollar. Or as a star. Stars can be 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 sided (triskelion, sun cross, pentagram, Star of David (so-called), and I'm not sure if an 8 sided star has a name. But once you familiarize yourself with these symbols and their meaning you will see it in logos and emblems of governments, corporations, nonprofits, churches and so on. Look up the cover for the book "Morals and Dogma" and you will see the same symbols. Then look up the emblem for EMERCOM the Russian military and their version of FEMA. They are practically identical and that is not by mistake. Hope that helps.

A teaching moment I think... Ester Forbes wrote the Book Paul Revere & The World He Lived In. It was rewarded with a Pulitzer Prize In History.(Ester wrote a children's book Johnny Tremain.. Newberry Awards Winner. Best Childrens book as I remember. . I have always loved the song... but check out page 97/. The Liberty Tree on that day, August 14 mades its professional debut. It had been planted some hundrend and twenty years before and was the largest of a group of elms standing in an enclosure at the present corner of Washington and Essex street..The ground under these elms gave ample room for thousands to gather and was known as Libety Hall..(That exprression, come into Liberty Hall and call the cat a bastard....The Liberty Tree was chopped down and used for firewood by British Troops as they occupied Boston. Noitce how the song writers got it all wrong... IT WAS A TALL ELM TREE...Not a tall oak tree... Its nice to learn accurate history...Check out the book by Ester its a must read... My favorite character in Old Boston was and is... the Reverend Mather Byles... In the movied the Patriot by Mel Gibson.. they use a quote from old Mather Byles (the ObservaTory Himself... About 3,000 Tyrants Marchine not a mile away or one Tyrant (The King) 3,000 miles aways... God Love You Mather Byles... wherever you are...and your two Spinster daughters...

***** They seem to sing in two verses... They sing ... Tall Oak Tree and a strong Old Tree.. The second verse is clear and the first one is very clear in the second singing... Love Ester Forbes...I have some distant cousins... (The Adams) cousin (John and Sam) who are related to my Pilgrim Ancestors.. who were in the demonstrations. Yes they say Tall; Oak Tree then Tall Old,,, We were born forever Free...
@cakelady11425 ай бұрын
@jaclynirwin6573... Agreed. As remembered from my childhood until now, listening closely several times, they sing "old" every time, every stanza. What I loved most is bursting with idealistic patriotic pride in this ultimate rendition. I'd love to see symbolic plantings of new Liberty Trees across the nation, to "stand against all tyranny." Surely we don't need another Sept 11 to bring us back to civil unity & patriotic pride. We are so fortunate to call the USA home!

"The Americans have tarred and feathered your subjects, plundered your merchants, burnt your ships, denied all obedience to your laws and authority; yet so clement and so long forbearing has our conduct been that it is incumbent on us now to take a different course. Whatever may be the consequences, we must risk something; if we do not, all is over." - PM Lord North, to the House of Commons, April 22, 1774

Just now noticed that, along with the random appearing and disappearing 2nd girl... Plus the change in Johnny's make up. That's what happened a lot back in the 50s when the editors are cutting film in dark rooms trying to match cuts and largely not knowing what they had until the final cut... Didn't really have video tape playback then... Hence why movies back then have more of a Broadway type of acting with longer camera shots of scenes instead of "quick cuts"
