Johnny presents a comedy award to someone he clearly doesn't like, but not before he's had a good moan about the state of his then career...

It seems disordered and manic but he has control of the entire room - an absolute master of his craft
@peterclarke72402 жыл бұрын
It's his timing... I'm convinced it's his timing. He just seems to know EXACTLY when to interject. Very few comedians have this skill. You watch him on anything, but particularly panel shows like QI or 8oo10CdC or the Last Leg, and it's his ability to time every single one of his outbursts to the absolute second that makes them so very funny.
@deejannemeiurffnicht1791 Жыл бұрын
He seems like a surreal dysfunctional version of the wee fat guy from Abbott & Costello the 1940s/50s comedy movie duo. Amd he works the look like a well oiled instrument. Fearlessness and yet vulnerability. Explosive combination. Belly laugh material every time.

Johnny Vegas is one of the most authentic comedians ever. The completeness of his honesty, fragility, darkness and light make me laugh, shed a tear and think deeply all at the same time, in waves and waves. All as it should be. An absolute comic genius and you just know that the world will not protect him and he'll end up in harm's way and that's what make you treasure him even more.

Absolutely perfect. Just ideal in every way. The uncomfortable people who know it's an act but are beginning to worry it might not be; that tonight will be the night when he actually takes a drink from his prop glass and starts to genuinely wing it. He never says anything which isn't funny. He's the butt of his own jokes. Nobody else ever suffers. They're embarrassed for him not for themselves. But secretly everyone in the room is wishing they could get away with it as well. The man is an actual diamond. The more you crush him the more beautiful he gets.

@pamlawrence1 : Look at the clip again and see what is said. I quite like Chris Marshall, always found his character in My Family to be funny. But he says about his writing team "If it's not on the page, you can't do it"..... something that doesn't apply to Johnny Vegas because he's original and writes for himself. To hand an award for best comedy newcomer to someone who is basically just a talented actor, when you can reel off improvised genius like Vegas can, makes his actions here justified.
