I going to comment on the American ending. I think that the ending was not to make Mega Man sound hardcore, but to show that he don't want to fight his robot brothern anymore. As shown in the comics, he had said he never wanted to fight the robot masters and even offered to reprogram the robot masters but most of them died due to Wily's plans. All Mega Man wanted was peace for everyone, but with Dr.Wily reprogramming robots or making robots to fight and take over the world, Mega Man has to destroy them. So, Mega Man was going to do what he should have done years ago. Kill Wily. Not only to stop himself from hurting more of his robot brothern but to protect the people he loves and the people in general. You can't possible tell me that no one died out of all the attacks Wily did. You can't. So in order to end all the misery that the robot masters and people had, Mega Man decided to kill Wily. That's why I think but hey, it is my opinion.

You can actually sort of kill Wily in Mega Man 4. Sure, it leads to a soft-lock, but you can do it. Plus killing Wily would stop him from developing the Roboenza Virus, which prevents the future development of the Maverick, Sigma and Zero Viruses, and prevents the conflict that leads to the X, Zero and ZX games. So killing early Wily would save generations of people from centuries of suffering.

I'm convinced that the only reason people hate megaman 7 is because Brentalfloss said it sucked. There's really nothing wrong with it.
@hyperpowerfulform51329 жыл бұрын
+Shadowman245 I agree. I mean, the man is entitled to his own opinion and all that jazz (if there is a pun there I do not intend it) but to me all the Mega Man games were "Average" at worst (8 and 5...and maybe Mega Man and Bass. I do like what I have played of but the cheap-ish difficulty makes me a little wary) and "Awesome with a capital A" at best (Unlimited and 10 and 9 off the top of my head, though I haven't played the last two in a year or so, I do remember them being in that spot however). So far the game feels above-average at worst to me, much like 6, 4, 3, 1 and (cracks open a Flame Shield Monitor and shuts eyes tightly)...2...sure the game (7 in case you lost track) forgot to mention somethings (like the Battle Mode and Big Eddie's Shop) but you have to cut the game a bit of slack, It's development cycle was *three months*! If I could guess another reason for the overlooking of 7 besides jumping on Brent's bandwagon (that might have been a joke, because It's funny to say "____ sucks big dinosaur balls!") is that the other games are nostalgic to them and they didn't play it as a kid, but since nostalgia is (to me) a double-edged sword they gave the game the "bad end" of the sword. It also looks "cartoon-y" and some of the fans (NOT ALL, MIND YOU.) thought (as a kid at least) that the series was more "serious" (I personally like to think that the series is more subtle with it's seriousness then, say, Mega Man Zero) probably because of the bigger sprites. It also had only four Robot Masters on screen and that could rub some players the wrong way. Plus, it was released in the _very_ *deep* shadow of X and X2 and it didn't contain the same advancements for better or worse (though it did have plenty of it's own). I think it was all three reasons that the game felt "childish" at the time. Plus, I think we all go through a period where we agree with the common consensus because it's "cool", or we're too desperate to fit in to think for ourselves, or something. TL:DR? I think It's because it was unfairly judged at the time and some people love to jump on the "cool" bandwagons. Thank you for reading.
@hyperpowerfulform51329 жыл бұрын
+Shadowman245 Yeah, I mean, I don't mind the art style of 9 and 10 and Unlimited (being 8-bit in spirit but not in limitation) but I always wondered what the art style would be if Inti Creates (or Capcom) choosed a more modern look. Oh well, at least there's Mighty Number 9. I have two questions if you don't mind. 1. Have you played Mega Man Unlimited? It's my personal favorite in the Classic series and I _highly_ recommend it to anyone who can run it. I know you must of heard about it's difficulty but honestly, if you keep a steady supply of E-tanks and W-tanks, and use the weapons your given it's not that bad, especially in Easy Mode (don't worry I won't judge you, after all, I used Easy Mode as well at first). 2. I kinda want to get into the X series but the biggest thing holding me back is that I know that some things about the plot that I shouldn't have and well...ever since I read what happened to Cosmo in Sonic X spoilers became something I fear. Is the story so well told that the spoilers don't matter like MOTHER 3 (or so the Earthbound fandom says)? Or, due to foolishness, did I just doom myself over?
@hyperpowerfulform51329 жыл бұрын
***** Thanks for answering those questions dude! There's a reason I put Unlimited so high on the list is that it's *incredibly* polished, about as much as Mega Man 9 and 10, you'll honestly think that it's a lost Mega Man 11 or something. But take me advice, download the latest version (Version 1.3.1), it irons out not only the bugs, but the more "whiny" bits in the soundtrack. Also, funny thing, I _think_ I have the Gamecube version of Mega Man X Collection in storage (i'm on a holiday) but i'm glad to know that even if I don't there's a cheap alternative. Thanks for the suggestions!

@@Super_Suchi well i megaman suddenly stops seeing wily as human, which is possible given asimovs stories tended to revive around how the laws break and one o the stories had the robots consider themselves human. @OneAngrehCat10 жыл бұрын
Brentalfloss dumbs down things a lot usually, but for once I agree with him, MM7 was crap to me. The zoom-in compared to the NES games meant that if you kept the pace of earlier MMs, enemies would constantly rush out of the screen and hit you, so they needed to make a much slower-paced Megamann and this slowed down MM is incredibly boring. There's also a lot of repeating level design like the platforms in Cloud Man stage where you always have to make tight jumps or repeating set pieces like the dragon/worm enemies in Junk Man stage. It's an honestly completely boring MM to me and I'll never finish it.
@Z_Cerulean10 жыл бұрын
Endlesswhiner VII is actually my second favourite Mega Man game behind II. It's relatively easy, making it good for newcoers to the series, the larger sprite and slower game speed isn't really an issue so the game is still fun. I would have a physical copy of the game if it wasn't more expensive than crack.

MM7 was a chore to play through from with bizzare robot masters which behave randomly should you not use their weakness (which makes every single of them a joke if you do btw) to the cheapest final boss ever. Didn't enjoy it a bit. Increadibly small stages, ridiculously huge sprites with questionable hitboxes and slow pacing. It's the most controversial gameplay wise entry even for me, an average megaman lover. No wonder some fans really hate it. The only redeeming quality is the graphics. MM7 looks gorgeous, can't deny it, even when compared with the X series.
@tracyndiyob1624 жыл бұрын
@@immortalfrieza mm8,9,2 and 6 are my favorite megaman games. 7 isn't the worst megaman game(that goes to & bass.) but the x series is a better introduction of megaman to the snes and even without the bullshit wily fight,its pretty underwelming/lackluster compared to the other games though it has a charm i do like(megaman nearly considering shooting wily which foreshadows x along with power battle,the intro and ending theme,megamans bittersweet walk and everyone celebrating at the end, and the super adapter which i wish would come back in the series soon.:3)

@@DoofusLoopus I think 7 is objectively the best, actually (I say "best" because it's still not my favorite). The robot masters all follow patterns, just like in the rest of the series, but none of them are complete pushovers this time, it probably has the highest quantity of good songs, there's tons of exploration to be done, every level is distinct, there's no bullshit difficulty, and there was an attempt to add some light story and depth to Mega Man's character.

Out of all the games in the Classic Mega Man series, Mega Man 7 is the only game that I find *criminally* underrated. I can understand people not liking/caring for 4-6 and even 8, but 7? I'm sorry, but the more I see this game swept under the rug as just "another Mega Man game," or "Mega Man fans" claim that it sucks just because it's not Mega Man 2, the more pissed off I get. Mega Man 7 is not only a fantastic game on its own merits, it's also one of my favorite Mega Man games of all time. One of the reasons I love this game so much is the exploration factor the game has. While it's not huge when it comes to secret areas, the fact that there are secrets to be found, some of which include new items and upgrades like the Homing Rocket Punch just adds to the replayability of the game. Another aspect I love about this game is the visual style. There's just a lot of character in the animations in this game, even more so than the NES games which had a surprising amount of character just for 8-bit sprites. I find a lot of the stages to be very well designed and fun to play. Are some of them a little too familiar? Maybe, but it's that good type of familiar, where it's familiar, but fresh at the same time, with each stage having it's own unique obstacles, and even homages to previous games, mostly 2 (*is unsure how to feel about that*). The weapon system, while not outstanding, is pretty decent, with the added help of Mega Man and Dr. Light explaining the basic and special effects of what the weapons do. I'd rank the soundtrack the same way; not outstanding, but has some awesome songs, with Slash Man's theme and Wily Stage 1 being my personal favorites from this soundtrack. The inclusion of Bass and Treble was handled well, and the fight between Super Adaptor Mega Man and Bass combined with Treble is one of my favorite moments in the series. The Robot Master cast is also a favorite of mine, with my personal favorites being Shade Man, Burst Man, and yes, Spring Man. I also love how this game encompasses the new mechanics with the old. Rush is a prime example of this, as the old Rush Jet and Rush Coil are in this game, as well as the new Rush Search and the Super Adaptor. This game also takes inspiration from World's 4 and 5 (Mega Man IV and V for the Game Boy), with the shop, secrets, and 4 Robot Masters at a time, which while it doesn't bother me that much, I wish all 8 Robot Masters could have been available. My only major complaint with this game is how its finale is handled. Yeah, it is kind of badass seeing Mega Man wanting to kill Wily, but this is out of character for Rock. I get that after 7 (more if you include the Game Boy World games, the Wily Tower portion of The Wily Wars, etc), Rock will have enough of Wily's bullshit, but wanting to kill Wily, even after being told by Wily that Mega Man can't kill him, is a little out of character if you ask me, and I wouldn't mind so much if it was handled better. I don't know, have a mini scene at the end with Mega Man wishing he could have captured Wily at the moment or something? I know this complaint is incredibly superficial, especially since 8 in terms of story, was a disappointing continuation, but that's the story nut in me going off. Overall, Mega Man 7 is a game that nobody should overlook, and it's one of the best gems I've ever played from the sadly underrated Mega Man library. While 3 will always be my favorite Mega Man game and Classic Mega Man game, 7 is a very close second, and dare I say, is the best designed game in the series overall. I can't express how much I love 7, so I'll just leave this comment by saying this: Please play this game. *Big watery eyes*

Well, for one thing, id say that you could do well as a reviewer from that alone, and for another thing, I dont think Bass and Treble were implemented that well, you meet them in the intro level and then they dissapear until Shade Mans level, and then after beating the last Robot Master (which very much could be Shade Man) you learn that hes Wilys bot, and I think he could have been a better rival character if he were introduced in say, 5, because I think he falls into the same pitfall Axl does in the X series, his introduction wasnt until the 7th game and then he didnt do much, as Bass was only in a few scenes of 8, only cameoed in 9, and was DLC, meaning he had no plot signifigance in 10, but if he were introduced earlyer, he would have more time to develop as a character, and maybe even be the antagonist of 5 or 6 if he was introduced by then

Looks like that digital rerelease eventually came some years after this video, via Legacy Collection 2. The Anniversary Collection devs didn't know how to properly emulate the SNES's graphics mode 7, which is why the credits were pared down like that.

Mega Man 7 for me is a masterpiece, how can people make an excellent game in just 3 months? It's simply incredible. The graphics, the secrets, the bosses are great. I don't understand why he is underestimated, he is much easier Than Mega Man 1-6. Although its last boss is difficult, but once you get used to it, the last boss becomes easy. Anyway, For me Mega Man 7 is the best game of all time. It's incredible.

Great review guys. Mega Man 7 was always one of my favourites. It has some great robot masters, catchy songs and good rewardable exploration. But that's more than what I can say for the next game though.
@SorenDaein3 жыл бұрын
Me after seeing Johnny's reaction to the hidden track after selecting Shade Man's stage: Don't worry Johnny you're not the ONLY ONE that has a serious beef with the Ghosts N' Goblins series. I've never made it past the first level when one of my relatives let me play. Didn't have much luck with Super Ghouls N' Ghosts either. The series is THAT hard. Not to mention the "WTF" moment where you have to go through the entire game again just to see the true ending. Hell, even Deadpool has a beef with said series which he actually brings up in Marvel VS Capcom 3 if the last fighter he takes down is Arthur. MvC has some kind of "post-battle victory still-shot quote" thing after the victory animation where the controlled character says something. In Deadpool's case for defeating Arthur, he says "And THAT'S for lulling me into great side-scrolling adventures that were never possible to beat!".

People hate Megaman 7 because it's not Megaman X. I don't get it. Megaman 7 is a game of the classic series, not the X series.
@Funkermonsterco8 жыл бұрын
Its about a little more than that: You see, when this game first came out, people didn't like it much because it didn't really add anything revolutionary to the franchise. The comparisons with X happen because said game was released a year before 7 was, yet brought far more innovation to the franchise. 1-6 were already criticized for being too similar to each other, and compared to X, 7 is basically seen as a simple rehash of the 8-bit games and didn't do enough to make its own identity. Its a decent game on its own but when compared to other games , the "same old, same old" Classic series was pretty much dead & people were ready to move onto a new series in X that delivered something 7 didn't: something new. Samething applies to the 32-bit MM8 as well: Not enough innovation, among other reasons people hate the two games.
@rockertheagent25978 жыл бұрын
Funkermonster Ahh, okay, I get the comparison of X and 7 now but still. People are comparing games of 2 different franchises in one Series and that's not fair. Megaman X was not a sequel of Megaman 6, it was the start of a new series that was the succesor of the classic. Besides, Megaman was never about inevetion in each own series. Megaman 7 and 8 are great games, they are just not good sequels .
@Funkermonsterco8 жыл бұрын
RokerFM_a3.4 It's all up to the individual, and everyone's gonna look at a game a different way. It might not be fair to you, but don't forget that if I see a game one way and you see it another way, neither of us is wrong but neither of us has the same experience either. If there was a truly objective way to look at a game, there'd be no need for reviews to start with. Just because it wasn't not about invention doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing or should be excused for it. Considering how its the usual complaint of the games by critics, many who already played 1-6 were just getting tired of its lack of innovation. When people only had so much money to spend, X's inventiveness just made it a more worthwhile purchase for most critics at the time, and comparisons were inevitable to happen like this even if they were different sub-series. There are other reasons why 7 is unpopular too: Oversized character sprites that weaken the level design, limiting you to only 4 Robot Masters at the start, and the intro stage with unskippable dialogue kill the pacing. I respect your opinion all the same though.

And the whole emulator thing got spoiled when it got released on the Wii U Virtual Console. Fun fact: The ending sequence of this game being blank on the anniversary collection isn't due to memory limitations as one might assume, but because the game developers had trouble programming the mode 7 graphics onto the sixth generation consoles. This and the correction of "Dr Wiley" from Mega Man 3 and "faild" from Mega Man 6 shows that they made an effort to reprogram these games to the Xbox/Playstation 2/Gamecube rather than just copy pasting them as a direct port (although I do miss Wiley and faild for some odd reason). Also, the save feature was a nice touch.
