Metal Gear Solid 4 was my first MGS game. Took me around 3 playthroughs before I even understood anything haha, I still don't regret it though as I always had respected and wanted to play the games. The emotional throwback moments still left a dent in me and I love this game to this day.

I started with MGS4 and beat it in a day with all the cutscenes, then played everything else within 2 months. I've never felt like I needed to marathon a series before but I did and got MGS5 (both of them) on their release weeks. MGS4 is weird to start on but the gameplay is just so fun and the characters are so intriguing it just lures you in to wanting your questions answered.

2:03 The Grave IS Big Boss's. If you look closely, the grave says "Forever Loyal to the Flames of War, Rests in Outer Heaven" 193X - 1999. We know that 1999 was Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, when Solid Snake incinerated him. Also, if you take Naked Snake's Age from Snake Eater, (which is around 25 years old) and subtract it from 1964, you get (about) 1939. It lines up. To further hammer this in, Big Boss was never seen alive in the timeline since MG2 at the time of MGS4.

Well, Ocelot is The Boss' son, and The Boss was like a mother to snake, as is evident thanks to codec calls between the two in Snake Eater, and some extra tidbits in Peace Walker. So, in a sense, Big Boss is Ocelot's brother.

Metal Gear Rising was originally going to be the story of how Raiden rescued Sunny, but when Platinum were brought on board, they changed the script, because they wanted to have more over-the-top bosses than a pre-MGS4 game could provide. I'm still mad about that.

Just a small thing I noticed here: Johnny said the game is set seven years after MGS2, but MGS4 is actually five years after MGS2. Well, technically it is seven years if you count the Tanker part, but it's actually five years after 2009 (the Big Shell incident) that Snake and Otacon have been looking for Liquid Ocelot!

I've read plenty of criticism of the series for its confusing over-the-top and being very goofy in a lot of those story ideas, but I still love this series because its characters are thought out and I find all the anime stuff to be awesome

It's a shame that after 12 years this game is still a PS3 exclusive. I mean, you can't even play it in PS4! How's that possible??!! In 2008 this was THE PlayStation exclusive! But today it's completely abandoned in that platform. I love this saga but this is the only MGS I haven't played on my own because I never bought a PS3.

Solidus was a perfect clone except for having the opposite eye missing which NO ONE NOTICED. Although some people claim Eva did know and used Solidus to protect the true Big Boss.
