After sixty years of listening to blues players, Johnny stands clear of the rest when it comes to interpreting the blues with soul and style. A category of his own.

Man now that's music 🎶 you will never see 👀again. Bring back rock blues. Miss them to the core 😢

This is obviously Johnny sitting in or playing the gig with Muddy's virtuoso band of the 70's with Pinetop, Jerry, Bob, Fuzz, and Willie. In my opinion, the best sounding blues lineup of blues masters anywhere. Muddy knew how to put a band together. No one will ever replace him.

I saw Muddy Waters at the Whiskey au go go in the early seventies. He was still recovering from a car wreck he'd been in and wasn't moving around as freely as in this video. It's great seeing him performing in top form. He and Winter had a great artistic relationship. They recorded the incandescent ''Hard Again'' album together.

Man is crazyyyy to think that man went from playing this music in the old south... the delta... listening to guys like Robert Johnson and Son House... in person.... to this..... the first Muddy Waters band is blues but still this quite an American story... the life of Muddy Waters...

I've seen ( JOHNNY ) in each of these decades 70s 80s 90s 00s 2010s kindest, greatest blues man ever even his Last shows when he couldn't stand still gave it everything. Loved my stories of seeing him decades earlier asking about venue, state etc. Ever notice Johnny's talking voice was high pitched almost feminine and singing voice was exactly opposite lol OH YEAH!!!.
@timcornelius19122 жыл бұрын
Frank Mackey, if you were in a one on one with Johnny, his speaking voice was almost baritone. Johnny was very intelligent and well spoken. A pleasure to talk with.
@frankmackey24192 жыл бұрын
@@timcornelius1912 maybe something changed, I never spoke to Johnny the first few shows, the later in life extra $ for meet and greet his talking voice is high, hardly baritone. This can also be found on various bootlegs and some studio albums. Your claim of baritone only took place during singing, and I wouldn't say baritone either. Just opposite of speaking voice. Like to know where were going wrong here tim. I being sincere. If you need to be a jackass towards me. No problem.
