Father of Blues muddy water, I heard my father, always talking about muddy water. He was a household, name in our household, and other as well, I love to appreciate, the blues through muddy water. I was a child at that time. B.B.KING, AND BOBBY BLUE BLAND CAME MUCH LATER, I LOVE THEM AS WELL.. B.B.KING WAS THE KING OF BLUES, BOBBY BLUE BLAND. WAS THE WORLD, GREATEST BLUES SINGER, Aretha Franklin sings the blues, also, I loved her also I never loved a man the way, I loved you, great icons, superstars,legendary , can't be duplicate.

God bless Johnny for honoring Muddy and bringing attention to what a giant he was in creating and carrying the art form to a new level. The work they did live and on vinyl is among the best ever played. I've seen hundreds of live shows and still to this date the best night by far was the Hard Again tour in March 77. Johnny was my favorite guitarist before teaming with Muddy. I think that he plays to his very best and most authentic self when on stage with Muddy. And this show with Muddy's legendary band of all starts. Bob Margolin, Jerry Portnoy, Luther Guitar Junior Johnson (all of whom are still out there performing and now true original elders of the blues) and RIP Pinetop Perkins, Willie Big Eyes Smith, and Calvin Fuzz Jones. The best blues band of the 70's and beyond, and among the best ever.

One of my most favorite things is my Hard Again album- Signed by Muddy, James Cotton, Jerry Portnoy, Bob Margolin, Pine Top Perkins, Luther Almud at Baltimore's world famous "Marble Bar". Six years later, The album and I went to "Constitution Hall" in DC to see Johnny Winter and he signed it after his amazing show. Too bad I can't put a pic of it here in the comment.

@@mikewheeler3994 You don’t think that by saying he’s “over rated” is trashing him? I have seen some videos of SRV that are mind blowing. Don’t get me wrong, I have been a Winter fan since the late sixties and believe that Johnny Winter never got the stardom he deserved. There was a outdoor concert here in the punk heyday and it was such a failure UNTIL Johnny Winter took to the stage! Crowd response is a great barometer of talent. (At least it used to be) He really got it going!

I liked SRV on his live stuff, but his studio albums were overproduced and lacked the raw edge that Winters albums had.
