The glorious Bluesrock of the 60's and 70's will NEVER be beaten for every genre of music. Those of us who lived it knew it was a special era. Dr.John and Johnny Winter legend !

So glad i met you Dr John. I watched your show and waited nearly 2 hours to say hello. You were so kind to me and you asked me to hold your famous walking stick . It was a lifes dream to meet the man and the legend . Ive always wanted to meet. One of the saddest days of my life was when i heard you had passed. God bless your soul my friend . I will be forever grateful for your kindness and music that changed the world . Keep on !!!

Я так его обожаю и завидую вам! Я видела его только по тв и е-нет. Мегаталант! Он и сам произведение искуссства - от внешности до каждой нотки! Инопланетянин с длинными белыми волосами. Даже фамилия в полном соответствии!😊

I met Johny at the Vulcan Gas in Austin in ‘71. I wish I met Dr John.
@klevesmith2 жыл бұрын
I met Johnny and Edgar when I was 7 or so. My uncle went to highscool with them in Beaumont Tx. My brother and I were spending the weekend with my grandmother and uncle. About 9p Saturday evening he comes home, through thekitchen door and entering the living room behind hin were these 2 guys in solid white, white levis an white t-shirts. My brother and I dove behind the sofa, they scared the bajeebus out of us. When the 3 of them stopped laughing at us, we came out and were introduced to them both. They weren't there long, just came to get my uncles bass and guitar to go jam somewhere. When they left our grandmother explained what albino meant, a 7 and 5 year old, we didn't understand. But, never forgot them, and we're both big fans of them both, and have been since the beginning. Our uncle went on to Texas A&M and became an Architect. Even though he was asked to go to Austin with Johnny. Claimed he never regretted it, to his death bed.

There was a jazz pianist, Marilyn Mcpartlin, who had a weekly radio program called Piano Jazz. She & a guest would chat and play together for a hour. A mix of duet & solo. Her technique was the same stride style as Dr J. So when he joined her of the show they melded instantly. It was a lot like this session, it flowed so smooth. I think NPR has those 1980s sessions archived & possibly accessible
