Many thanks for posting! this is the earliest Johnny Winter I have heard. I've loved the Progressive Blues Experiment for over 50 years. The sound quality is excellent. Thank you! You can really hear the future greatness of Johnny Winter.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. There was one track off the cd that KZbin wouldn't allow due to copyright, but it really wasn't that great anyway. It was really cool to hear Rollin' and Tumblin which I never heard from any other bootlegs from the original band.

Johnny was inimitable in his musicality and virtuosity. I wish I could get this on LP. Thanks for posting! 🎸

Never heard this early of a recording from him and quality is outstanding! As someone born in the early 80s, these are especially important since I wasn’t alive to see any of this or hear it in person

The last song is actually a Robert Johnson song titled "If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day". I love hearing this early Johnny Winter show and the 2 Robert Johnson tracks on the national. This is the earliest Johnny Winter show I have heard on KZbin.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. These live recordings were done just 4 months after his debut "Progressive Blues Experiment" at the Vulcan Gas Company.

@@sean891 I've had the Progressive Blues Experiment on LP and later on CD for around 50 years now. Always loved that album. The versions on here of Stones In My Passway and If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day are the only times I've ever heard him do either of them.

My dad saw him there when he was in the Texas legislature & one his aunts who turned the front room of her house in Houston into a record shop was visited by Johnny looking to add to his huge collection of old "race records" as they were called.@@sean891
