One of my favorite aspects of South Park’s writing is how they come up with ideas for jokes and then find ways to use them topically later, like how the fish sticks joke was completely unrelated to Kanye but became tied him through a string of random associations and it ended up being the perfect joke for him to not understand. Reminds of the wheel of fortune “naggers” joke and how they had the idea for years, they just didn’t know how to incorporate it into an episode. Then the whole Michael Richards situation happens and they already have the absolute perfect set up for an episode. I think it’s one of the reasons their creativity is unmatched at times.

Short defense of Bound 2: the song is in fact a parody of Kanye on purpose. The misogynistic sex obsessed narcissist is exactly the image he had during the Dark Fantasy era, pointing it out in the song "I know I got a bad reputation Walk-around-always-mad reputation Leave-a-pretty-girl-sad reputation". This is all a play to the audience, giving them what they want after a whole album of trying to give them what they need (which is the opposite of what he intended on the first track On Sight). He winks at the audience with reference to Jerome from the sitcom Martin, a black sitcom starring Martin Lawrence, and Jerome's character was a parody of the stereotypical "ghetto black man" in the 90s. Kanye is playing a caricature of Kanye to win back some goodwill with the audience that hates the person he was.
