Unless you already knew, holding jump actually increases your jump, so perfectly timing your fast aerials while holding jumps has this result

I think at 3:50 when you're talking about viewer bias ion 3s, I think more bias is actually present in the method you use to rank 3s than 1s, because in 3s, team success is not necessarily the same thing as individual skill, biasing basically every result. In 1s, on the other hand, a player's success is a direct result of their individual skill, so an achievements-based ranking system is far more appropriate.

He seems to land with the nose of the car first, which spins him around. Pros have been practicing this with wave dashes in the past, where they dash with the nose slightly tilted downwards, as far as I remember it never quite worked consistently enough

As much hate as I'll get for this. I dont personally like the Zen showmatch spam. It gets relatively "oh ok we get it he is fantastic, i get it." Personally my favorite matches are mixed ones with ex. Rlcs rookies, top 10 ranked rookie, veterans and others facing each other. One of my favorite matches in recent memory was Over Zero vs I think Kinseh on Feer. It was a while ago but super interesting.

I gotta disagree. The "Zen arc" has some real "a new challenger has appeared" vibes to it, where Zen faces up against the top challengers trying to make a name for himself, it's a really interesting and unusual event in the 1s scene. But I think we are witnessing the last handful of showmatches of this arc anyway (at least in the concentrated way we have seen thus far), since Zen has beaten most top 15 players at this point. Maybe a couple more top 15 or 20, as well as the rematch against Rw9 are left.

Atow was very predictable, especially in offense. He never tried to fake a shot or going for a 50/50 instead of a shot and it often couldve worked, but because he never did it, Zen knew how to react. The very last shot by Atow couldve worked with a fake shot maybe

Just bc Zen beat someone doesn't mean he's auto better then them. They have all played countless showmatches and won/lost to each other. If you can take a game off him, and especially go to game seven, then it's really just luck of the day. If you look at overall times scored over a showmatch he might not be on top. He beats people by like a 1 difference and has had games where he's losing by a high margin. But the man's top 10 I'll give him that

I dont think you can deny him currently, hes gotta be top 5. Remember this is just currently not of all time, that top 5, 10, etc list changes often depending who is streaking. A wins a win no matter the score meaning the opponent lost. It just shows he can close out games better then them which is a must have characteristic to be in the top, but I am curious to see how he does once his opponents learn his style, I think thats when you'll get a real feel for where he stands. Ill put him #1 if that means we get all the showmatches happening, I think he has inspired the 1's greats to want to play him. its an awesome time right now for the 1s scene

It's a fair point honestly but the thing is he won 10 in a row and with a lot of style until RW9 that also went to game 7. I do not know which rating you would give to RW9 but in my opinion he's sitting in rank 1 currently so yeah. Also you can tell when Zen is getting a lead he's trying very hard to make shiny stuff, this has to be taken into account. But anyway there is no difference between a 1 or a 10 goals differential; a win is a win like a goal is a goal, we all know that, why don't you ? ^^
