I went to Brighton to learn English... I found that the people there were a little introverted but really nice, and also honest and direct. They said what they thought immediately. For example, I noticed only later in the bus that my shoe was broken. An elderly person whispered to me, with a kind smile: "Just hide it with the other foot...". And by doing the "peace" sign, they immediately understood that for me it had another meaning. Without being rude, nor aggresive, they explained to me that that sign with the fingers maybe means "peace" in the rest of Europe, but not in England (or Brigthon only?). Also seeing that I was waiting for the bus, they told me how things work without I had to ask: "You have to strecht out your hand if you want the bus to stop". My host family was really clear about the difference between British and American English about the words "soccer" and "football". But I can't tell much, I could pay for only two weeks. But I must say... some of the best weeks of my life! They also asked me, since I understood their humor: "Are you sure you are not one of us?" I miss Brighton! Have you ever been there? During the weekend I visited London only one, man is that huge! The Madame Tissaud Museum was really cool. I liked the parks in London but I was surprised you had to pay to sit on a chair...
