I have you all beat, I’m 91, graduated from college in 1955 so am an authority on the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. They were super times, I can’t believe the changes in the world. One thing about Dean, he had the most distinctive voice, two words of a song and you knew who the singer was. You could understand every word. I do miss him, and was so sorry when his son died. That destroyed him.

Awww, two of my faves! I’m retired from a blessed and busy 60 year career as a studio singer and spent six wonderful years singing backup on Dean’s TV show during the golden 60s.Dean was the greatest boss you could imagine, kind, funny, deeply respectful for all of us lucky enough to work with him. He was a consummate pro and I really miss those years. I used to get asked about his “drinking.” Apple juice. Rest In Peace, Boss. You are deeply missed.

Dean is my favorite singer ever. We had his music playing at my wedding and everybody loved it. No chamber music was played. After we were pronounced husband and wife, instead of the traditional walking up the aisle music, we danced up the aisle to "Ain't That A Kick In The Head"! Everybody cheered and clapped. During the reception, we played Dino, Sinatra, Bobby Darin, etc. and we were thanked all evening for not having tasteless music played. We were young too. We've been married for 18 years now. Once a week now, we have a nice sit-down dinner while the above singers serenade us as we decompress.

Great watching these clips. I remember watching Carson, Martin, Columbo programs etc. with my Mom. My dad was often on the road and knowing she was at home with my youngest brother as only company at the old farm, I would cut date, pool, and hanging out with frieds nights short so I coulkd come back and be with her. I think she appreciated it.

Johnny always knew how to interact with his guests ... he never over- shadowed them & let them shine. Always enjoyed Dean Martin's variety show more than the roasts . Dean got to sing on the variety show...a big plus ! Also really liked Dean's Matt Helm spy-comedy movies ...my favorites were The Ambushers & Murderer's Row .. They had great casts & storyline. I remember ABC always showed Matt Helm movies before they got the rights to the James Bond films.

@@minecraftbuilder3110 People who knew the rat pack and his son are the most reliable reporters I'd say and the consensus is that Dean could drink plenty of J&B Scotch but would cut it off earlier in the evening than the rest. Also, he drank on air frequently but not as drunk as he would pretend. He liked to have a light buzz when he was doing his act on some nights and on others he would just have apple juice.

Dean Martin, one of the most iconic legendary gorgeously dreamy cute and adorable beautiful gentleman to ever walk this earth. One of the best and most talented. We need way more real class acts like him nowadays and The King of Late Nite himself, Johnny Carson. Love seeing their great friendship, such a delightful fun simply hilarious funny time. Dean not only a actor but a illusionist/ magician in creating his characters, especially the drunk on stage. Their are so moments in this where this perfectly in timing acted out. And what a fabulous boyish charm and likeable personality both possess. Thank you so much for posting this for a huge fan of King Johnny and King Dino! Love how Dean truly complimented Johnny at the end. 😍👑💎✨⚜️❤️♥️🤣😂😆👏🏻🫶🏻🎞️🎭🎬🎥 📺 🥰😘🤩🌟✨😎 🥵 🤤 🏆 💋🧃🥃 😇 ♾️ 🎵 🎶 🎙️ 🎤
