@@JesusFriedChrist Anyone remember when the Flyers had the same horn? It was back in 2004 and if the Flames and Flyers met in the Stanley Cup Finals, it would have been weird to hear the same horn for seven games.

This goal horn hiccup has happened a few times over the years. I've seen a compilation of it on youtube somewhere. (Jens95 maybe?). When I saw this happen I thought that maybe the Canucks' goal horn operator is secretly a Habs fan and was just doing a little bit of trolling. As for my favourite goal horn, I'd have to go with the Pittsburgh Penguins'. A nice, crisp sound. (...And, though as a Leafs fan, I'm loathe to admit it, but Boston's is pretty solid too. The forceful, aggressive punch of it really fits the Bruins. Though it ranks lower than the Penguins' because, as far as I know, the Penguins have a real horn, and the Bruins use a recording. But feel free to correct me if that's wrong).

Boston's horn is actually a recording, and the recording is also used by the Toronto Marlies, London Knights, Peterborough Pete's and North Bay Battalion

@@coastaku1954 Boston's a different recording. It has a much slower attack on it and that generic Marlies, etc one is a big higher and crispier. I used to be autistic about goal horns and ran a goal horn channel years ago hahahaha I used to rant about that horn being way overused.

Goal horn guy probably sees so many Canucks goals that he forgot for a second who scored that one lol. Maybe biased, but the Oilers horn from the Coliseum days (not counting the `06 playoff run) was always my favourite. To pick a different one as my fave, the Kraken one hits hard 👌

Islanders goal horn back in the pre-renovation Coliseum days, early 00s til 2015, was the best. They use three of the same horn at UBS but the acoustics just aren't the same. Also loved the Sabres goal horn-air raid siren combo from like 15 years ago.

This was the first Habs, Canucks game in Vancouver I haven't been to in a long, long time. Yes, Habs fans are well traveled, but Vancouver is a low-key "home" game for the many, many Habs fans living out West (like me). It's entirely normal for there to be more crowd noise for Habs goals than Vancouver goals. I can honestly say on many nights you'll see more red in stands than blue or white.

Making a point about the little players. A lower center of gravity and a low risk of hitting the head makes hitting really effective. I’m only 5’5 and anytime I play I like to check a lot because I’m never at risk of injuring anybody and it’s a lot harder to throw a dirty hit. It is however really easy to get ROCKED just because I’m shoulder to head level with a lot of the bigger guys.

when I was watching it and when the horn went I had a little laugh. little mistakes can make the game funny. i think we have a double agent roaming around canucks home games, maybe a crazed fan ran up and press the horn

The Canucks' horn is the best tone i think. The Ducks' is super deep tone, love that. Flyers have a dual high/low blast that's cool... Columbus has a fkn cannon which is great. Honestly wish the rangers and oilers had better horns cause those teams score a lot

This happened a lot during the play in round after the first COVID lock down. Well, during the round I watched anyway. I remember thinking "Why is the horn going off for every single goal?" I know there's some gray area due to technically not being a true home game for some teams, but the constant horn blowing was strange to me.

I do PA for my club hockey team and I accidentally pressed the horn button mid game cause I thought we scored and I accidentally hit trying to switch to the music on my phone since the button on my goal horn app was big. Also my goal horn in the leauge I would say is the Rangers due to how unique it is.

RE: Goal Horn. Wouldn't read too much into it. I believe while the Habs goal was scored the goal announcement for the Garland goal was going on, so I could see the game ops had their heads down and going through the script, heard a big cheer and went to hit the goal button as a natural reflex before looking up.

That's exactly what happened. The loud cheer from Habs fans made the horn person trigger home team mode. 😂 I can't remember seeing that either but do see when the home team scores and it's a late goal horn celebration. But never for an away teams goal.

MN Wild goal horn is the best. Not because I'm a homer (im not) but because i genuinely think its the the most well rounded sounding, attention commanding, best duration/bursts, and general hype inducing qualities. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be *robust* . The people walking down West 7th in St. Paul can probably feel it. I can understand *certain* unique goal horns like the Caps being most liked as well. Some though like the Oilers make me cringe. No disrespect to the team members because it obviously isn't their choice, just an example. Im sure some people dont like the Wild's either for a variety of reasons.
