I have grown the carmine variety for several years now. Love the colour, the easy care, and the staying power of the colour when dried. Nice video. Thank you.

I failed to grow gomphrena this year. All my seeding didn’t survived. But I will keep trying to grow Gomphrena. Love this flower performance.

Don't overestimate how many you need. They grow and grow and grow and grow some more.

Yes so true last Summer I over seeded mine thinking I under seeded. Such great value and easy to grow, mine lasted about 5 months well into winter. I pulled them out to make way for other plants as they overgrew. Greetings from Sydney Australia 👍🇦🇺😍😄🫶

Seeing all that amaranth makes me jealous. I grew a couple plants and they were absolutely DESTROYED by those pigweed beetles. I mean swarms and swarms of them, I'd get rid of them and ten more would replace them. it was wild.

GOMPHRENA!! argh! 2 of about 25 ORANGE seeds germinated.
@tracey-annbuchanan49629 күн бұрын
sometimes you have super delayed germination with it. I planted some QIS carmine and I thought they completely didnt germinate but lo and behold a month or so after a few of them randomly pop up. I dont think its same for the globosa. The ones I planted germinated immediately and I've had them all over my garden such that I had a lot of volunteers. I'm in the Cayman Islands so I guess they love the heat here

How many plants to create what are in the videos? How far apart? I like how it’s almost a hedge.

Hello! On our Research Farm, the beds of gomphrena are 30” wide. Each plant needs a 6”-8” square of room to grow in, so we transplant 4 to 5 plants across the row, and make sure there is 6”-8” between each plant along the length of the row. We hope this helps! Happy Growing! 🙂

Which type is better for Zone 10A? (Personal use….self sown in ground) Thank you for the information.
@JohnnysSeeds Жыл бұрын
We unfortunately do not trial Gomphrena in zone 10. We would not anticipate significant differences between varieties but if you do grow them please let us know if you see any! :)

How long does the seeds last? Can you save seeds for personal use. I have harvested one bunch before our first frost and dried them and uses it for our dining table arrangements. Just wondering if seeds will grow? But I still have seeds left from my last year order.
