Happy Canada Day. Johnny, 6:36 at Yonge & Dundas, parade arrived 3:17pm. I was at Yonge and Bloor it started 2pm, so parade moved slowly for 1 hour 17 minutes when it only reached Yonge & Dundas.

Why didn't you film the ILLEGAL public nudity that the exhibitionists clearly wanted everyone to see? That wasn't honest reporting...TSK, TSK! You must work for the MSM, do you? We have laws; "indecent exposure" is on Canada's lawbooks as a crime. Didn't you want to give the police anything to work with for investigation purposes by filming the law-breaking show-offs? Such UNEXPECTED indecency and disrespect for law can traumatize little children for life. Some of the clownish sights that were still clothed was more than enough to traumatize adults! Must it be flaunted in our faces and shoved down our throats? No pun intended. Such an action and disregard for law could bring on a horrible backlash. The gays could be forced back into the closet, by their own doing. If one law of the land can be ignored...so can other very dangerous ones. This set a very dangerous precedent in which nobody wins. The parade participants did themselves no favors.

Happy Canada Day. Heard some great music out on Church and danced with some old friends to celebrate Pride. Lots of happy faces together yesterday. I have to say, the Naked man wearing a leather dog mask, collar and metal leash that was being pulled by another man at 9 o'clock at night had a wee girl that couldn't have been 4 years old staring at them. Id like to see some well thought out guidelines for future Pride events that benefit the entire community. Friday night on church st is not family-friendly from all that I saw this year. I've been coming to Pride since 2008. I say this with care at hand.

I tried to capture the crowd and atmosphere as much as the parade. Standing for 4 hours from one spot slowly watching a parade roll by isn't my cup of tea, but it does work well for livestreams! Appreciate the feedback.

The scenes in this video are INCREDIBLE! So different from the prejudice and intolerance that existed in Toronto in the 1970s. Gays were attacked in a daily newspaper (The Sun?) The Toronto police harassed gays at their bars. I remember a poignant case, reported in The Toronto Star, when the police raided a gay bar and arrested people, including a man who suffocated in his own vomit after he was escorted to the police van. Most notorious of all was the brutal raid on gay baths in the early 1980s. I visited The Roman Baths after the raid. The police had smashed the wooden walls of the cubicles during the raid. The men who were arrested came from all walks of life, including married men with families. The case against them was dismissed by the courts. In this video, one can see a totally different scene with gay people marching through the street while huge crowds of people watch and even cheer.
