I am so pleased for you, that you got a chance to check out London - such a vibrant and historically significant city, especially to us Commonwealthers. I never had a bad experience there, always had fun and learned a lot.

Southbank ( including what the author said was southside-not a thing) is one of the best city walks on the planet. Probs the best. But I am biased.

Great vlog, have done this walk, although starting from Tower Hill / Bridge many times. Some times stopping at various of pubs along the way. So ends up a bit of a crawl. 🤪 Always great views of the Thames and the skyline.

Great video. I have done that walk many times. You mentioned a payment card /debit card you are using - Tapee or it sounded like? . It seems from 2020 onward the use of payment cards has exponentially increased in London - having been turned away a few times by merchants not accepting cash. I am on the look out for a payment card that's widely accepted in London and how you obtain one ( set -up before you arrive of get one there). Can you comment on the card you are using, its acceptance and how you got it. Many thanks from Hamilton ON.

I just used Samsung pay to tap pay with my credit card. Pretty much everywhere accepts it.

Have you ever had a “cheeky” Nando’s before Johnny? I know there’s at least one Nando’s in Toronto so I’ll have to check it out on a future visit.

There used to be several before the pandemic :(

the cool thing about london is there’s cool museums like the London Transport Museum, Kew Gardens, Docklands museum and Science Museum. Also be sure to go watch a classical music concert at the Royal Albert Hall. That’s an awesome venue. Lots of good stuff to do in London but I have to say London is NOT a particular beautiful city (As Sherlock Holmes kept reminding us). It’s haphazard as you noticed walking around and has random architecture just kind of thrown around and jumbled up without any consistent plan or visual cohesion. If you have time go visit places like the Peak District or the Cottswolds in the UK. The rural areas are the nicest areas of the UK and they are radically different than what a rural area looks like in North America with tons of walking trails, walkable towns/villages. I’m thinking of towns like Stroud, Shrewsbury, Huttersfield, Inverness, etc

How crowded does the London feel overall?

if you had climbed those steps at the side of London Bridge, then crossed the road (staying on the south side of the bridge), you could have joined the riverside "Queen's Walk" a little earlier than you eventually did

The traffic is on the RIGHT SIDE of the road on the bridge of millennium. And this is just the beginning! 😜
