Dreamer is one of my fav songs from OOR. I think they were inspired by bands like Linkin Park, Thirty seconds to mars, etc. I have been a fan of them for more than 10 years and at the beginning I just didn’t know any other bands like them in Japan or worldwide. The ones who sounded like them were older. Thanks for your reaction.

I am a Japanese OOR fan and they seem to have exploded in popularity with this song. I always enjoy watching your reactions as well. I wish you would listen to more Japanese rock bands! I'm using a translator so sorry if the English translation is weird.

I have no idea how I found them to be honest, because this dates back to 2012 for me. I was listening to J-rock and J-metal bands back then a lot and somehow I found these guys and this song , as I say above in another response, powered me through the last part of my bachelor thesis through lots of sleepless nights. I did like some other songs of theirs, but this one just can't compare for me personally.

This song is a first song I heard their song when I was a student. One of my best friend told me that he found a crazy rock band. The vocal(taka) is son of Shinichi Mori who is really famous singer in Japan. (We have never heard his song, tho, because he is too old. We only knew his name) And taka was just kicked out from a idol group cause by his bad attitude. I was like, he was a idol and now rock band? um okay. Then I heard this song and I was like WTF!? What the F is his voice!!!! And I have been a big fun of them since that day.

I honestly don't know because they don't talk much about their inspirations. But I will say, I've seen a Green Day (Dookie & American Idiot) plaque on the wall during their Instagram lives. It's also pretty known that Linkin Park played a big part of their writing process. There's also a song called NO SCARED, which is apparently heavily inspired by Papa Roach's ...To Be Loved. I believe Taka is wearing a shirt in that music video that has some ties to Papa Roach as well. (Link to MV: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3y6ZZ-nn5eWhLc) There's also the fact that Taka likes wearing Metallica shirts, but I honestly don't know if he hardcore listens to it. That's honestly all I know. If there are any others that will like to add on to this, please do so.

Ah that’s awesome! It’s so cool how bands like that can be the inspiration for what we now know as one ok rock, like they took that sound and added their personals and lives to it and made something so unique
@satan666reincarnate Жыл бұрын
@@JohnReavesLive I absolutely agree with you. It's just so mesmerizing how they curate their own genre/style. I also find it quite relatable that Taka, the rockstar that he is, had a Papa Roach phase (Who knows? It might've not been a phase lol) and loved the song so much that he and the band decided to create a whole ass song inspired by Papa Roach.

Hey, watch this of Taka crying while his parents was in the stadium 11 years ago. You won't regret! Emotional roller coaster. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lae2hY2Aiceen8k The song is written for Taka’s parents whom both believe that moving forward as a vocalist or a band member is difficult that they discourage him, despite the fact that his parents are famous singers themselves. This made taka decide to run away from home, live with his grandma while working part time jobs to get the money they need in starting up a band. How I interpret “nobody’s home” means the lack of support he got from home. But the song as a whole is asking for forgiveness towards his parents for what his done and telling them where he ended up.

From all of their song The Beginning will always have a special place in my heart. It's their first song that i heard and that is also why i will always be thankful for that Live Action Rurouni Kenshin movie for that. 「完全感覚Dreamer」and The Beginning aside, NO SCARED is one of their best song, also Stuck in The Middle, ONION, Nobody's Home and We Are is also banging. On more emotional part, Pierce (Live from Yokohama Arena) is really recommended, there's a live version of Wherever You Are that's really good too (from jinsei x kimi tour i think), Heartache and Hard to Love is one of their best too. Also the acoustic version of Wasted Nights and Stand Out Fit In is also really good. I kinda lost touch with their newer music, maybe i'll listen to some of them.
