FYI The songs “Autumn Strong” and “Ikanaide” share the same melody. “Autumn Strong” is the Chinese version of the song while “Ikanaide” is the Japanese version. Both done by Dimash beautifully (Dimash Ikanaide 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival Video = Fantastic ♥

I really fell in love with Dimash's singing in this song and in this particular performance. The song is beautiful and Dimash's rendering is magic. He is like the successor of the bards of old who told stories through songs that took people's breath away. It's so sad that many of Dimash's haters attack Dimash that he's just a technical, emotionless singer who's just showing off.

Love, Love your Dimash reactions!❤ If Dimash had been from China, he would have won, but realistically he did win, because he has millions of fans all over the world. If we ever make it to a concert, we can sing the chorus of this song with Dimash, it has to be an incredible experience to be at Dimash’s concert with fans of all ages and nationalities singing in so many different languages with Dimash, and he loves it when the Dears sing ❤. He is a Unifying force!

Probably many other more knowledgeable Dears will write in, but the real reason Dimash did not win is due to the fact that he was a special invite to this competition, BEFORE the event contract was rewritten to permit ANY nation's performer to win. Up until Dimash's session, only a Chinese artist could win. A point John missed is that "Autumn Strong" is actually a reworking into Chinese of the Japanese song by the famous and talented Japanese artist, Tamaki Koji. Dimash slays the original Japanese song at the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival - recorded in a studio under COVID restrictions! Hopefully, John will also react to that soon. As someone who lived and worked in Japan for a decade and is fluent in Japanese, Dimash really mastered the nuance of Japanese in his performance.

@@barbaraspeckarmy the next season the rules were changed, think of what happens when someone wins these shows in the US, they are under contract for someone else, completely controlled, it’s not the best thing to win these competitions in the US, now I can’t speak about contractual obligations in other countries. So fortunately Dimash was famous overnight in China, 600 million people saw SOS, and now he is famous in places all over the world, but not being controlled by any Music Label, he has his own.

Another sad thing was that he didn't even win this tour. I think that's what they call the episodes. To be fair, he was the youngest there. Everyone else was a bit older professional singer or singers. I enjoyed some of the other artists. Terry Lin and the band Lion, who you see backstage in this video. They were all super supportive of him. The show learned their lesson because Jessie J won the next season.

There is a great reaction of a chinese artist - portrait art in which he tried to explain a full reaction long, why it’s not possible to sing a song in mandarin without knowing the language quite well. Dimash only knew in Mandarin a few words. After that he saw the performance and was so exhausted and couldn’t believe that Dimash was 98 % right. Dimash has sung songs in many languages. He does not speak most of them. He has received criticism for SOS, which is in French. He did not win this but came in second. The reason being he was not a Chinese citizen! So there you go! Brutal huh? 👍❤️🇨🇦

He improved his French pronunciation in subsequent versions! I don't understand people criticizing when most wouldn't even attempt what he does. I have even more admiration when I consider the added difficulty of his native language/ learned vocalizations being so different from other languages. It is easier for an English speaker to learn Italian than Chinese, for example. Even more difficult to learn language as an adult, too.

It is very sad when people attack others for where they are from. I too have seen some nasty comments about Americans. I too am American and I just can not see bashing someone for where they are from. Dimash seems to always try and sing and say at least a few words in whatever language the country in which he is performing speaks. When he was in New York he spoke a lot of English and also in his native tongue a few times. He sang in a host of languages and everyone was just happy and the entire atmosphere was just warm and wonderful.

You are a big softie, Dimash is just excellent with everything he does. As for people slagging you being American you do right in just letting it wash over you. The only reactor I've been negative was from the uk the same as me shameful, he was aggressive using foul language and just horrible, put it this way he has three comments to a nightwish song so I think he just annoyed everyone so much they didn't bother to comment.
