Ever considered making video game review videos? Seems you're always coming up with new ideas for videos, well there's enough games out there, some with no good reviews. It's literally an endless supply of source material. Most, if not all retro game collectors watch reviews and research games to buy, just an idea.

Wow, this video was incredible! John, you are such an amazing curator of classic arcade titles! You truly have an unrivaled knowledge of all the best games from '82. I loved seeing how you excitedly discussed these titles, and it was nostalgic for me to see some of my old favorites on the screen again. It was great to reminisce over some of the classic games I hadn't thought about in years! Your videos keep getting better and better - keep up the awesome work!

I love the older 80s arcade games. I have an Arcade 1Up Space Invaders that I have modded with a 60-1 Jamma board so it has many of these classics on it. My go to is either Donkey Kong or Mr. Do.

Sinistar as an Assist Trophy would've been amazing! Break open an AT case in the game, white light flies upward, background turns pure black... ... _"BEWARE; I LIVE!"_ or _"I HUNGER, COWARD!"_ or _"RUN RUN RUN!"_ or just _"Rrrr! Rrrr!"_ and down he comes!

One 1982 arcade game I enjoy quite a bit is Kangaroo. It's a pretty blatant clone of Donkey Kong, even going so far as having monkeys as the main enemies, but it's notable for being an early game besides Ms. Pac-Man featuring a female protagonist.

Mr. Do!, Mr. Do's Castle (known as Mr. Do vs the Unicorns in Japan) Mr. Do's Wild Ride, and the extremely obscure, released as a kit only practically at the beginning of the Great Video Game Crash, Do! Run Run.

BagMan - There was a port of this to the C64 called BagitMan. I have no idea if it was official or not. A while bag, there was a homebrew sequel called BagMan Strikes Back. There was also a fairly recent BagMan port to the Amiga. Mr. Do - I don't know if they were official (I assume they were), but all those games were released for the C64. Super Pac-Man - When I got a copy of this (C64), I didn't even know it was an arcade game. I just thought that someone bought the rights to the Pac-Man name and made their own game from it. Zaxxon - The only C64 game I ever had on cassette. The game was good, but it took forever to load. I did get fairly good at that version though.

Mario was known as 'Jumpman' in the original Donkey Kong. It wasn't until after NOA moved from New York to Redmond that he was given his permanent name change. He was named after the landlord of the Redmond, WA. office at that time. On a different note, do you want to know how Kirby got his name? It has to do with the lawsuit Universal Studios filed against Nintendo relating to the original Donkey Kong.

Okay, my review of these games😊. Amidar: Never heard of it Bagman: Never played it when I was a kid, barely aware of it as an adult. Bubbles: Also never knew about this game when I was a kid but now, had played it on emulators and is really good 👍 Burger Time: played it all the time when I was a kid, loved it 👍even though I sucked at it😅. Dig Dug: Played it quite a bit when I was a kid, not as fond of it as much but still nostalgic👍😊. Domino man: never heard of it until you mentioned it🤷♂️. Donkey Kong Jr.: played it all the time😊, love it👍 Eyes: never heard of it until you mentioned it🤷♂️. Food Fight: was aware of it, never really played it back than😕. Joust: played it all the time😊, love it👍. Moon patrol: barley played it but I remember I liked the music. Mr. Do: played it a bit, but not as much as the others, still good 😊. Pengo: Barely aware of its existence🤷♂️. Pooyan: wasn’t aware of it when I was a kid, played it on my bootlegged NES mini and it’s pretty good 😊👍. Popeye: Played it a bit when I was a kid, not a fan than but have become more appreciative of it as an adult👍😊. Q*bert: played it all the time, not my absolute favourite but still great😊👍. Robotron 2084: played it a couple of times when I was a kid, didn’t really like it👎. Sinistar: played it once in the arcade cuz that was the loud one in the back corner and it it really turned me off👎. Super Pac-Man: wasn’t a fan when I was a kid👎but have grown to appreciate it as an adult 👍. Zaxxon: Definitely aware of this game when I was a kid but really didn’t play it🤷♂️. P.S., game’s that definitely came out in 1982 that you didn’t mention but I highly recommend are Millipede, Pole Position, and definitely the best one of the year, Tron😅.

Oh John....so much to unpack here. I would respectfully disagree with you on Zaxxon - I LOVED this game, and played it incessantly! Super Zaxxon was even better, as it was a bit faster, and it had a dragon boss as opposed to the Zaxxon robot. Mr. DO!!!!! Oh yes, this was my GO-TO game in the day (the adrenaline rush of hearing the diamond appear for a free game!), and yes, the 4th game was "Do Run Run" - it was a sort of weird 2.5D top down version of the game. The only 2 I did not play were Eyes and Domino Man, but I played the crap out of the rest of them. Robotron was amazing, and a modern version of that I would think would be Nex Machina. So many great games!
