I might disagree with the Michael Jackson bio. If they did it right, the Super Bowl would be the best trailer premiere spot. This is considering that Michael Jackson essentially birthed the Halftime spectacular and modern craze of watching the halftime show with Super Bowl 27 '93. Still great to watch.

I don't mind the Rey character, but strategic wisdom would suggest letting her show up and do cool things in a movie not centered around her before giving her a solo film. Being Kenobi-esque in a new trilogy and releasing her solo film between 10 and 11 would make more sense to me.

It intrigues me they are talking a Rey trilogy now. We have Skeleton Crew coming out and all these “solo” projects that seem stalled - maybe the trilogy allows them to explore all the individual movies through her character. Just a thought….

The interesting thing about kinberg, and I don't think it is being brought up during discussions but a reminder that simon co-created Rebels, and wrote most of it (even after S1), one can say "the luster has worn off filoni" (a comment i don't agree with but I understand why it's being said) but him and dave have been a close team in the past, this actually isn't as big 'a shock as it may seem from the outside. Also, worth noting, I think it is okay (and good) to hold lucasfilm to their announcements but *a* *lot* of star wars cancellations were leaked by insiders not by LF themselves; if the mangold movie goes, or the channoy one? The misconception that he's failing upward stems from the badly directed films on which he was a writer, including his try at directing. His writing is considered good or great, but that doesn't always lead to a good film. Script readers can generally tell the difference.

The Batman isn't that complicated, you can have TWO different versions of TWO different universes or TWO different BRANDS within the same product. They are more valuable as seperate things then linked things. James Gunn himself said they were going to have an else worlds or BLACK label anyways to tell stories, that's this & things like The Joker. I think given the success of what Matt Reeves has created you obliviously let him continue EP and craft this darker universe as a trilogy with at least 3 separate limited series (focusing on Batman villains) cap ending each movie. I think after 3 movies and 3 TV shows Matt Reeves will have had his fill anyways. That's the "reeves-verse" when we want to tune into in the future on streaming. I kind of love how The Penguin ended and wouldn't want to see a continuation of that story as a season 2, I'd personally love to see Barry Keoghan as The Joker for 8 episodes or whatever that can sort of wash the Joaquin Phoenix Joker out of the public consciousness for a little bit. It's a shame that James Gunn is shooting that down but I think you gotta let Matt Reeves decide which villains to focus on so maybe it will be Catwoman as they teased Selina Kyle at the very end of the movie or maybe it's someone entirely different and you have The Penguin cameo for an episode. I would love to explore Arkham some more. James Gunn is focusing on Superman, Supergirl and other fantastical characters first so this will give Matt Reeves plenty of time (at least 4 years) to develop what he needs before James Gunn "fantastical" version of Batman shows up in another movie. The Brave & The Bold should really tell that father-son and mentor story, but it should also give us a window into the entire "Bat-family" as it sounding like James Gunn version of the Batman will also be older and more grizzled veteran. You basically end The Batman 3, and then the very next year you drop The Brave & The Bold and let the final TV series play out on streaming.

Any future SW movie involving Rey will flop - TLJ and TROS were just too divisive/disliked. The next trilogy needs to jump ahead 100 years and feature NEW heroes, villains and designs. Give us a fresh start that doesn't remind us of the botched ST.
