Hey John, I think that front decal is oversized. I looked at the original cabinet and the dragon logo's fit in the space without be cropped like your's was...

In the bottom opening where the coin box goes there are wood "rails" to the left (3:51). You'll see some sort of side art on both of them. Yellow, blue and black I think. I have the same in my MK2 machine. Midway was known for using leftover cabs as extra parts for new cabs. I had a Revolution X cab that had MK2 side art on the inside. I wonder what side art they used inside of MK2????

John, you should use a roller to seat the T Moulding in the groove, the rubber hammer leaves it looking very lumpy. Take pictures as you take it apart then you know how it goes back together.

You can get the bolt out! by putting a nut on the end of the thread so you don't damage it and whacking it with a metal..! Hammer. This will force the t-nut as well back into the wood. Should be just enough to get the spanner on and undo the bolt. Try lying the cabinet on its back will be easier

Had many an arcade day like that. Nothing goes right! That fact you leave the mistakes in is part of what makes the channel so good (glad you ripped that front decal off tho). Restoring cabs in your arcade sucks too. Im in that situation now and being cramped makes it all unfun. Id echo what someone else said about the tnuts. Stick a nut on it, tighten up to it and forget.

Leave Nintendo cabs alone unless the sides are really bad.... In that case, to replicate the Nintendo finish... This is what I did on my Popeye and Donkey Kong 3. Sand bare, fix imperfections, two coats of primer, then sand, two more coats of prime, sand again with higher grit sandpaper... Followed by two more coats of the paint to match whatever Nintendo cab you're painting, sand again, followed by two final coats and finishing off with a 2000 grit wet sanding. All the sanding in between all the coats will prevent orange pealing and the final wet sand will give the game a very close Nintendo sheen. With that said.... I recommend leaving the game alone as John said.

Dude... nicotine is the addictive stimulant in tobacco, not the tar from cigarette smoke. While there probably is some trace of nicotine, that's not what the stains are. You're the 2nd person I've met who routinely calls it nicotine and I figure if you are going to be restoring so many cigarette-stained things then someone should probably let you know. :)
