just picked up a pair after really scrutinizing this purchase. I looked at Dr. Matens, Clarks, Hanns Cole, Red Wing, and Timberland to name a few. The XC4 look very cool and have the look I was going after.... they look great in business casual as well as a pair of jeans. And they feel absolutely wonderful. This is the first time I ever spent north of $100 on shoes and all I can say is these are well worth the price. I assure those reading this, I'm not being paid to write this. I'm starting to feel discomfort in my feet as I get older and now a days I tend to pay more attention to things I didnt think twice about in the past including my shoe selection. Anyway, love the new XC4s.. I picked up the thompson plain toe boot model.

To my understanding is that the heels the shoes and boots are not stack leather but more cheap paper pressed together to pay just under 200$ the customer deserves to have quality not glued paper and rubber
