HMS Victory - part 2 Wiring The Hull

In this video i place on the LED strips for the lower decks, also some LED for the hatches and i make the skeleton for the officers quarters with led strip on. The outcome is fantastic and we haven't finished with the LEDs yet! This Video comes in 1080p.

Hi, John nice video. From my experience with LEDs, I had to be careful of getting too much light as lanterns on old ships would be very subtle. I had to paint some lights over to get the right effect. I would suggest that you make up a cardboard template and cover each gunport and adjust your lighting as need be. Cheers! John.

For the hull you can do that, it won't make a difference in the final outcome.

Bonjour John, Toujours aussi jolis ces éclairages de maquette, j’aime beaucoup. J’espère que lorsque je ferai le mien j’y arriverai. Il y a pas mal de points lumineux sur cette maquette. Je vois que tu utilises un générateur de tension pour les essais, moi je n’en ai pas pour l’instant, puis-je utiliser à la place un chargeur de téléphone 12v 1000 ma ? Quel était le problème pour le montage du dernier couple de la proue (vidéo 24mn30s) ? La luminosité des bandes LED est en blanc neutre ou blanc chaud ? Hi Yves!!! I use a modulated power supply unit made for workshops, after all my profession is electronics engineer :) Yes you can use that adapter, you won't have problems as long as the current that provides is what it sais. The problem was that the pieces should not glued vertically but with a small angle. You have to throw on both sides to understand that. The color is yellow my friend :)

Hello John, Buddy and Wolf! The effect of that dim light inside the hull and officers quarters really provides another dimension to your ships. Simply breathtaking. I'll be watching every video. I do have a question John - I've heard from some fellow modelers that they're not fans of Billing Boat kits because of the poor instructions provided for assembly. With all of your experience, I doubt it's a problem for you but for the average hobbyist, do you think this is an issue? It's one of the reasons I have never purchased a Billing kit

Hi James! So far i have no problems but the instructions are not made for beginners. If you have made 2-3 models before then you will have no problem. But you have to read ahead to make sure for some things.

Γειά σου Γιάννη, μπορείς νά συνδέσεις μεμονομένα leds σέ διάταξη σειράς, οπότε στά 12v βάζεις μέχρι 4 leds μέ ρεύμα κλάδου 20ma καί μέ μία αντίσταση μόνο. Μειονέκτημα άν καεί ένα τότε σβήνει ο κλάδος,αλλά δέν μού έχει συμβεί. Άν δυσκολεύεσαι στά ηλεκτρονικά μπορώ νά σού στείλω σχεδιάγραμα. Έχεις καί μικρότερη κατανάλωση διότι άν έχεις 4 leds σέ σύνδεση παράλληλη έχεις 4 Χ 20ma /12v ενώ σέ σειρά έχεις από 1 - 4 leds 20ma /12v. Αλλάζει η αντίσταση ανάλογα μέ τά leds Άν θέλεις σχεδιάγραμμα δέν γίνεται από εδώ, αλλά από αλλού.
