Cutty Sark - part 3 Placing The Main Deck

Hi John knowing the older design of billings kits it is more likely their fault not yours I agree wood is very forgiving I was sure drilling that small bow piece it would break well done on the gentle way you did it

John, have you ever built the skeleton upside down? Using the Deck for alignment of the ribs, and adding the keel last. I had the same problem building my first ship, the deck and ribs were off very slightly and took a lot of rework to make fit correctly.. - Love the videos! - Mike

No Mike, never done that. And this one came out pretty good in alignment. Very easy to fix any mistakes so far :)

Im building the Norske Løve at the moment, and I used the main deck as a template when I glued in the bulkheads. Also used the build slip from Billing Boats, which made it a lot easier and much less adjustment of the notches in the deck

Hi John, what caused you to open the bowsprit hole up to 8mm? Had you dry fit the bowsprit to test it and it was too small? I have not opened my box yet so that is the reason i havent checked yet… cheers Nigel 😊

Hi Nigel, i didn't change the mm of the hole, i changed the angle, it was the other way around.
