Well.. I was planning on making just a regular update video since I haven't posted a video in a while but my truck had other plans.
Here in the next week I'm going to pull the transmission and assess the damage.

I had similar issues with my original transmission... forward planetary gear are the Torrington bearing and destroyed the gearset. Just rebuild it and send the converter off to be rebuilt.

The 4L60 transmissions are like glass. Broke the one on my inline 6 Trailblazer a few years ago. I don't know if you could replace it with an upgraded 4L80, but you should look into that

You want to have someone like Circle D in Houston build your tranny. Have your builder tack the back of the gear shells. GM protects transmissions by limiting torque during shifts. When you have a good tune that I cuts back torque control your truck will be a lot faster but you'll be eating stock transmissions. You have to have a built transmission and a billit converter to reliably run GM performance trucks. Your truck would be a lot faster if you had a set of gears... which unfortunately is a lot more on a 4x4.

Exactly why I haven't cammed and tuned my 2015 because I know the 60e isn't long for life afterwards

The 2015s don’t have the 4l60e. They have the 6l80e. My transmission didn’t even blow, it was the torque converter. It wasn’t even the stock converter either. You’ll be fine just with camming your truck.

4L60E is good for stock power, anything over that and they become a ticking time bomb. Time to get it built stronger and get a 2500 torque converter.

Should have put the transfer case in neutral for towing also could have broke something in the transfer case but that wouldn’t explain the hard shifting

The truck was in 2wd so the transfer case wasn’t even engaged.

Yes but if you read the manual you can put it in neutral and the trans would have not been spinning I believe you hold the know all the way to the right for a few seconds or something don’t remember

Does it sound like a really loins power steering pump that’s out of fluid. Mine did that and ended up being the tq converter.

@@loganrichards5218 yes sir. All new Ls7 lifters springs pushrods cam new water pump. No need to put a 11yr old water pump back on. Cost for all new parts labor and tune. $2,850..
