Back in 1992, I bought a Guitar Magazine with a free cd of audio stuff that went along with each lesson in the mag. The only reason I bought it was a rare interview with Wally Nightingale, the original Sex Pistols guitarist. Inside the mag and on the CD was a lesson on Anarchy In The UK by none other than Guthrie Govan. I wish I still had that in my collection as the backing track and play through were great.

Lovely guitar John….just sold my Charvel San Dimas…… stunning guitar …..but the one and only thing I couldn’t get on with was the really really flat neck …. Looking forward to your full review on Sunday 👍🏼

😮 I am really into sunbursts at the moment... I also like roasted maple necks, super Strats, two-point terms, big steel frets, locking tuners... Oh dear, thanks for nudging me into GAS!! 😂😂😂

Sounds great. So so so bloody expensive though!!! Nearly 4K in Canada for the basic version. The non signature model of the same guitar is well less than half the price. Some clever switching which means 2 or 3 extra solder joints and they jack the price up by 150 percent. Guthrie is one of my absolute favorite guitarists, but nearly 4K for his signature is a little uncalled for. I guess when you get to his level 4K for a guitar isn't much of a concern. Unfortunately for the average player who wants that kind of guitar it's pretty much out of the question. An American Ultra strat is just about half the price and just as much guitar as this.

Interesting.... I thought that Steve Howe was the Guitarist for Asia.....but when I looked up Guthrie Govan he is credited with playing with them. Then reading further...he started around the 2001 era, after I lost interest when Steve Howe had quit playing with them. I just listened to parts of the first album that he played on, it's okay, not like the first two albums that I love from them. He's good!
